The Study Of Prepositions About The Flower In The Mirror

The early modern Chinese is a very important period in Chinese history and animportant transitional stage of connecting the modern Chinese and ancient Chinese.The Flower in the Mirror is just the novel in this period, which contains plenty ofcorpora and has its own research value. But the study of The Flower in the Mirror isa weak part; no one has done a systematic study of the prepositions. Therefore, onthe basis of the end type statistics and classification description,this paper takes theFlower in the Mirror as the research object, adopts the method of combiningquantitative analysis and qualitative analysis, analyses the syntactic, semantic andpragmatic function, and then does a comprehensive, system, detailed research of theprepositions in the Flower in the Mirror.In addition to the introduction and conclusion, this article is divided into fourchapters. The introduction part mainly introduces the research value, researchmethods, the article version of the Flower in the Mirror and corpus of the reference.The first chapter is a summary research of preposition, mainly including the historyreview prepositions, the definition and classification of the preposition. The secondchapter analyzes the syntactic aspect, examines the structure form, clears thefunction of the difference between the single syllable prepositions and two-syllableprepositions, analyses the syntactic distribution of prepositional phrases, andexplores the structure type, syntactic position and the syntactic function of theprepositional phrase. On the semantic aspects, the third chapter analyses the105prepositions on the based of the quantitative and qualitative analysis. According tothe semantic characteristics, the prepositions in the Flower in the Mirror are dividedinto five categories to do a detailed analysis. And then we can clear the specificgrammar characteristic of the different prepositions. From the Angle of pragmatics,the fourth chapter analyses three pragmatic functions including topic marker, the focus of the highlights and discourse coherence, examines the looming situation ofthe preposition and tries to explain the reason of the looming situation from thesyntactic structure, semantic features and the pragmatic functions. The last part is theconclusion of this article. On the basis of detailed research, this article summarizesthe general characteristics of prepositions and summarizes six conclusive opinions.
