The last3decades have witnessed splendid and impressive progress achieved in the development of translation in China. Its improvement in either scale or quality serves as an unprecedented contributor to China’s social development. Translation is now playing a greater role in linking all countries together as a bridge. What’s more, the vigorous development of interpretation does pave the road for more frequent international communications.Interpretation is defined to promote communication freely by verbally switching from one language to another one correctly and swiftly. In other words, being a promoter of free communication for both parties is the top priority for an interpreter. Therefore, that interpreting whatever you hear may not generate good results as expected. It is necessary for a qualified interpreter to use different interpretation skills in consistent with the requirements of both parties, the specific situation and every resource available as to provide better service for better communication. No matter what interpretation skills, however, being used, they indicate the active role an interpreter plays and the’communication-oriented’ pattern he chooses. It is way far from enough to do the word-for-word interpretation. Through choosing the proper interpretation skills, an interpreter is more likely to help enhance the communication, serving as a real active bridge.By researching into the author’s work experience, this paper is going to study how to make full use of the’communication-oriented’ pattern during interpretation, how to promote communication effectively and make more active contributions to the future development of interpretation.
