1991, Hanban Chinese level test and North and the HSK center of language jointlydeveloped “Words and Characters of Chinese Proficiency Level Outline From”. Then, itbecame the basis of theChinese Proficiency Test at all levels. At the same time, it is alsothe basis of overall design of teaching, textbook compilation, classroom teaching andachievement test. The Chinese character outline received2,905Chinese characters,divided into four levels,including:800words in Level A,804words in Level B,590wordsin Level C,670words in Level D. The words in Level A are the most basic and commonlyused Chinese characters in teaching Chinese as a foreign language with a strongword-building skills and a considerable degree of association with the common spokenChinese. It also contains a large number of commonly used surnames, names, geographicnames and so on.This page used the800characters in“Level of Chinese characters outline”asresearch object. The research is focus on three areas of study: First, the “zi-centeredtheory” in teaching. Second, Statistical Analysis on Level A words.Third, the teachingmethods of Level A words. By studying” Level of Chinese characters outline”, this papertries to seek the effective teaching methods and design in initial stage of Teaching Chineseas a Foreign Language.Study the "word based" theory, analye Level A word outline,summed up theregulation to seek the teaching methods and designs in foreign language teaching of theprimary stage.
