| In recent years, due to the economic development of Jiangxi Province, thewarming up of "Chinese fever" and the support of the Government of JiangxiProvince, the proportion of foreign students studying in Jiangxi increasedsignificantly. As the education of foreign students started late in Jiangxi, it is verypractical to set up courses of Jiangxi folk culture which are characteristic and canpublicize Jiangxi culture and attracting overseas students at colleges and universitiesof Jiangxi Province.This article is a research on the course of Jiangxi folk culture, and it is also a partof the cultural teaching in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. The teachingfocuses on foreign students in Jiangxi. We take five colleges in Nanchang City assamples and look into the basic situation of the Jiangxi folk culture course which isspecially set for foreign students. The basic situation covers several areas-class form,class type, and duration of class, just to name a few. On this basis, sampling methodand questionnaire were used in this study. Based on the proportion of foreign studentsin the sample library,200questionnaires have been sent out, among which128effective questionnaires were called back.Firstly, according to literature analysis,“folk custom of Jiangxiâ€,“Jiangxi folkculture courses for foreign students in Jiangxi†and other related concepts are definedand researches on teaching foreign students which are related to culture, folk, regionin recent two decades were reviewed. Additionally, this paper introduces the situationof foreign students in Jiangxi province and Jiangxi folk culture teaching. Secondly,with the help of documentary, interview and practical experience, based on thestatistical results of the effective128questionnaires, the author analyzed students’interests in learning and learning needs, then explored and verified the necessity andfeasibility of Jiangxi Folk Culture Teaching. Thirdly, on this basis, the authorcombines the theories of the culture in teaching Chinese as foreign language and folkculture teaching and emphatically discusses the main teaching content of Jiangxi folkculture course. Finlly, according to the personal teaching experience and thefeedbacks of the students, the author reflects the problems existed in the folk culture teaching and thus makes some discussions on the resolutions and possible teachingstrategies. |
