This material comes from the Electric Power Planning Engineering Institute WebsiteInformation Compilation, which is more than ten thousand words. During the process oftranslation, the author put the readers as first according to the demand of the company, solvedproblems with different translation strategies and skills.This translation report is divided into four parts. Part One gives a brief introduction tothe source of the text, the author’s writing style and the content of target text. Part Tworecords a process of translation, preparation, translation and checking, and sums up problemsand phenomenon occurring in each phase. The translation difficulties are solved under theSkopostheorie put forward by German Functionalist School. Based on translation difficultiesencountered in the process of translation, Part Three makes a detailed illustration oftranslation skills from the following six aspects: literal translation, amplification subtraction,inappropriate person perspective, sentences simplification and omission, reconfiguration. Inthis part the author combines the theories and detailed examples to show the appropriatenessof the improved translation. Finally the author reflects on the translation, stating the qualitiesthat a translator should possess and the author’s realization of the importance of improvingher Chinese as well as English.
