The Chronicle Of Zhang Peilun’s Life

Zhang Peilun (1848-1903), First named You qiao,also named Kuizhai (also known as Kui Zhai), a native of Zhili Province Fengrun county (now Hebei Fengrun) Da Qi Tuo village. In1871, he got a Jinshi.Successive awaiting/studying Hanlin Academician, Deputy Censor Censorate left, The premier’s office walking. Meantime, actively participate in politics, repeatedly express his views, himself calls "five thousands of miles back and forth, Criticism of a lot of people".In1884, handled the territorial seas affairs of Fujian Province with San pin Qing title,and held a concurrent post of Shipping Minister. Later, due to Sino-French War failed,he was impeached. By the end of1884,he was demoted to Zhang Jiakou. After stuffed three garrison life,he was back to Tianjin,and entered a department of Li Hongzhan in April1888. After living seven years in Tianjin,he was impeached once again.He lived in seclusion in Nan Jing since1895.He was ordered to Beijing again so as to handle negotiate matters along with Li Hongzhang with the Imperial Academy editing identity.Then,he was appointed as an official in Beijing.But he insist on finding a way out,and resigned with the disease as an excuse.He dead in an apartment in Nanjing in1903.The chronicle uses writings of Zhang Peilun as main line,and uses other information as auxiliary.
