The Use Of The Rhythm Of Folk Percussion In Chinese Piano Works

Chinese composers are now focusing on writing melodies which have moreethnic artistic conception, sounds and musical language which full of colordecorativeness. Their works are absorbed and simulated the phonogenic and thecharacteristic of traditional instruments, the national rhythms modes and harmonictexture, showing the vivid Chinese national individuality, to expressing nationalemotion and clarifying national spirit. I try to analyze and summarized the Chinesepiano works with model rhythm of folk percussion, and explore that how do Chinesecomposers use this kind of rhythm in piano works.According to combs and summarizes the rhythm of folk percussion in HanMusic,I analyzed how does this kind of rhythm which in the traditional folk operamusic and in folk songs and dances to be simulated and used in different types ofpiano works in CHAPTER ONE, in order to show its artistic style and charades.Carding and summarized the rhythm of folk percussion in Minority folk which inNorthwest, Southwest,Northeast and South Central China, and analyzing how doesthis kind of rhythm be simulated and used in the piano works which nationaldispositions and characters are fully expressed in it.Focusing on the used of the traditional idiomatical rhythm of folk percussion, Iexpounded the significance of incremental, diminishing and “1-4-7” rhythmic patterns,and how it can have native special features in CHAPTER THREE.In Chapter four, I analyzed how do the rhythm patterns and tones to be showedthrough the utilisation of vocal imitation techniques in harmonics. On the other hand,I expounded how does the timbre, power and register of piano to be planned in thistype of works.In the last chapter, I elaborated the impact and realistic meaning of the use of thiskind of rhythm in Chinese piano works.By summarizing the use of the rhythm of folk percussion in Chinese piano works,I hope my thesis can help the increasing numbers of composers and students to takemore attention to the forms of the rhythm of folk percussion. And my dissertationwould help me a lot in the future.
