This paper focuses on studying the basic features, the basic characteristics, thebasic value of the Shaoshi Wen Jian Lu′s vocabulary. The paper can be divided intothree sections.The first part depicts the basic outlook of monosyllabic and polysyllabic words. Byclassifying the Shaoshi Wen Jian Lu′s vocabulary, we can draw the followingclassification. First, based on the complex syllable structure of the compound words,there are six types, that is: Attached, Joint type, Partial formal, Subject-predicate,Verb-object type, Supplemental. Second, monosyllabic notional words have fivekinds-Nouns, Verbs, Adjectives, Numerals, Quantifier, Onomatopoeia. Monosyllabicfunction words have six kinds-Adverbs, Pronouns, Prepositions, Conjunction, Particle,Modal particle. In addition, there are a few complex syllable function words,trisyllabic word and quadrisyllable words.In the second part, we analysise the characteristics of the Shaoshi Wen Jian Lu’svocabulary in word formation and use, which implies that the word formation pattern isbasically complete, Joint type, Partial formal, Verb-object type three word formationpattern are occupy the dominant position. At the same time, investigate differentprecepts with the prime,colloquial words, and summarize the Shaoshi Wen Jian Lu’svocabulary use characteristics.The final part reveals the value of the Shaoshi Wen Jian Lu’s vocabulary. First, theShaoshi Wen Jian Lu’s new words and meanings. Second, the contribution for “TheGrand Dictionary of Chinese Languages” compilation. Third, we can identify the lackof this “The Grand Dictionary of Chinese Languages”.
