Revision Of The Word From Zi Zhi Tong Jian In The Grand Chinese Dictionary

The Grand Chinese Dictionary is the first multi-volume Chinese dictionary, is an unprecedented grand event of dictionary compilation history. It is an important dictionary to Chinese vocabulary researcher, with complete entries, exact paraphrase and plentiful documentary evidence.Zi Zhi Tong Jian recorded the complex history of 1362 years between Warring state period and by the end of Wudai. A lot of documents were selected for the compilation of the dictionary, and the words contained various aspects of society, such as system of official\ system of imperial examinations\ the legal words\ denomination of architecture\ the apparel words\ medicine technics\ the Buddhism words\ idiom, etc. The word amount of the dictionary is very large, which provides the rich corpus for the study of vocabulary.Zi Zhi Tong Jian phrases were used as the first documentary evidence in a lot of entries of the Grand Chinese Dictionary. However, in these references there are meanings of words missing, wrong interpretation, latter of documentary evidence, documentary evidence is inconsistent with the meanings of various problems. The aim of the paper is try to find and correct these errors mentioned above by investigating systematically the Zi Zhi Tong Jian phrases included in the Grand Chinese Dictionary from these aspects of entries receiving, means explaining and documentary evidence listing, etc, which will make the dictionary become more scientific, systematic and accurate, and provide some valuable references for the study of the history of Chinese vocabulary and the compilation, revision of the language dictionary.
