Study On The Integrated Teaching Methods In Teaching Foreigners The Chinese Listening Course

Abstract/Summary:
Listening, speaking, reading and writing are four basic skills for students in language learning. In the past practices of teaching Chinese as a second language, much emphasize were laid on reading and writing rather than listening and speaking, as a result, many teachers were not really aware of the importance of the listening course, which, was thus characterized by single teaching method and dull classroom climate, so that students just listened to the materials passively and did not have interests in active learning in such a course. But with the rapid development of teaching Chinese as a second language, more and more scholars have realized the importance of listening and speaking skills, and began innovation on the teaching methodology of listening and speaking in view of the relative lagging of the teaching methods in listening and speaking courses. Many scholars have proposed the use of the integrated audio teaching method to change the present boring and low efficient situation of the listening course.In this paper, in view of the situation of generally low efficiency in the listening course teaching, the author, taking advantage of the internship opportunity in the International Education College of Guangxi University, tries to make a combination of the Situational Language Teaching, Audio-Visual method and Audiolingual Method to apply them in the actual classroom listening, carry on the teaching innovation in practice, and test the feasibility and effectiveness of the integrated audio teaching method. At the same time, as a complementary method, students are encouraged to participate in teaching activities, and to make performance or speech so as to create a relaxed and happy classroom atmosphere and to arouse the students’ interest and motivation in learning.To sum up, integrated audio teaching method in listening course changes the fleeting voice into a three-dimensional combination of visual, audio and lingual experiences, provides intuitive perception to the student, and helps them analyze, understand and memorize the speech materials more easily, thus greatly improving the teaching efficiency. And the complementary form of student activities can effectively enliven the classroom atmosphere, arouse the students’ interest in learning; students also can learn in the activities in a relaxed and easy way, their self-confidence will be enhanced, and enthusiasm in learning be improved.
