With the economic development of China,the exchanges and cooperation betweenChina and other countries are becoming increasingly frequent, dissemination anddevelopment of the national language are complementary, Chinese spread around theworld need more support of foreign language teaching theory. Confucius Instituteopened in Sri Lanka, contributed greatly to the spread of Chinese language in SriLanka,The Confucius of kailaniya College is Sri Lanka ’s only Confucius Institute,the office of Chinese Language has sent more than ten teschers to the ConfuciusInstitute of kailaniya College,now in office with two public school teachers. Theoffice of Chinese Language has sent more than fifteen Chinese volunteer teachers tothe Confucius Institute, and now there are six volunteer teachers. Another six Chineseteachers, now belongs to the Confucius Institute has three local teachers. ConfuciusInstitute of Chinese students in the early years only a hundred people, as in November2013, the Confucius Institute Headquarters and Sri Lanka capital ColomboBandaranaike Centre for International Studies,the National Defense University in SriLanka, key secondary schools in the creation has opened ten teaching areas, andcarred out academic and non-academic Chinese classes. Confucius Institute incooperation with the Department of modern Languages is training Chineseundergraduates,teaching more than90Professional conduct for non-Chinese ChineseCertificate Courses, participants totaled more than3300people. While carrying outthe work of more than40local Chinese language teachers training, establishingChinese test sites, organizing at all levels of various types of HSK, the number ofcandidates a total of nearly300people.In Sri Lanka, more and more people to learn Chinese, this paper mainly studiedthe situation of Audiolingual Teaching Method based on Chinese classes in theUniversity of Kailaniya Confucius Institute.This paper describes the AudiolingualTeaching Method of theories, including the concept of the Audiolingual Teaching Method, the rationale of the Audiolingual Teaching Method, the general principles ofthe Audiolingual Teaching Method and its teaching process. Then through researchingon the situation in Sri Lanka local students, the situation of Local Students wereintroduced including the Chinese students’ learning motivation, learning attitude andlanguage proficiency of students,all have carried out a detailed analysis.On the basis of these theoretical and practical situation, combined with thespecific teaching cases,detailed analysis of the the application of the AudiolingualTeaching Method were made. Based on the Chinese classes in the University ofKailaniya Confucius Institute, through the investigation found that the local Chieseclasses is mostly comprehensive courses, so I selected the comprehensive courses asteaching case to analysis.Starting from teaching steps,the paper respectively discussedthe Audiolingual Teaching Method in the review of old knowledge, learning newwords, learning lessons and grammar practice. Finally, useing a complete chapter froma macro point of view summarized the Audiolingual Teaching Method to explain thelack of this teaching method and how to improve.
