Throughout Xinjiang Chinese novels in the new era, it’s easy to find that the external andinternal of the text exist a conspicuous group, namely immigrants. The influential Chinesewriters in Xinjiang are immigrants or their descendants, and their writing objects are almostimmigrants in different periods. However, such a regional literature phenomenon with uniquefeatures does not arouse the academic attention. After organizing the current creation situationof Xinjiang Liuyu novels in the new era, I conclude three kinds of Liuyu novels with differentwriting objects, namely “persons who stay long in a strange place or persons who arebanished from the court”,“persons who reclaim wasteland” and “the tramps”. Combined withthe theoretical methods of politics, theory of literature and art and cultural geography etc, thisthesis analyzes the artistic charm of three kinds of Xinjiang Liuyu novels in the new era withthe concept of Liuyu as its point of penetration. This thesis analyzes the Xinjiang Liuyu novels in the new era in the following five parts:Part one generally represents the research background of Liuyu novels concerningXinjiang novels, demonstrates the source of theory of defining Liuyu novels in this thesis andsummarizes the current creation situation of Xinjiang Liuyu novels in the new era.Part two mainly analyzes the characters in the novels in line with the three kinds ofimmigrants. They are the images of persons who stay long in the border land and get theacceptance of minority in the political storm; the images of persons who open up wastelandand trap in the shackles of rights in special period and under centralized environment; theimages of tramps who are rich in inclusiveness and desiring for survival.Part three analyzes the narrative features of the works respectively according to theabove kinds of persons, that is, dealing with the borderland politics with the spirit of “greatenjoyment” in Uyghur nationality; focusing on the harm bring by the right to persons whoreclaim wasteland; describing the endless wandering both in body and spirit with the writingpattern “on the road”.Part four indicates that three kinds of Xinjiang Liuyu novels reflect the philosophicalmeaning of suffering and redemption. The suffering types of Liuyu life include survivabilitysuffering and mental suffering, and the latter one is the greatest suffering in life. And then wecan trace the source of suffering: right and desire. The ways of suffering redemption includeresisting suffering with humor, enduring suffering with tenacity and conquering suffering withtrue feelings. Once it’s the suffering with no solution, the writers will exert the idealizedredemption by means of arranging the persons to “escape”. Part five elaborates the creation value of Xinjiang Liuyu novels from the perspective ofsocial and historical value, and they are the history of the soul of Xinjiang immigrants. Afterpointing out that Liuyu novels are in a repeat narrative dilemma, this thesis also looks forwardto the conceivable future of Xinjiang Liuyu novels.
