For ruling the Central Plains and eradicating the Southern SongDynasty, the Jin Dynasty propped up Liuyu to establish the Liu Qi powerafter eradicated the Liao Dynasty and the Northern Song Dynasty. Liuyuknew that his regime could exist only if he could eradicate the SouthernSong Dynasty, so military affairs was an important part of the Liu Qipower.The Liu Qi powers military affairs included military policies, militarysystem, military actions and so on. The military policies could bedisplayed by politics, economy and diplomacy. Liuyu used the legalityof regime as an excuse of the military actions and developed themilitary affairs by the policies of appointing trusted followers, attachingimportance to the development of military affairs and so on in politics.Liuyu took some measures to provide goods and materials to militaryaffairs in economy.Liuyu contacted with the Jin Dynasty and Yangyaoenergetically for eradicating the Southern Song Dynasty and subduingthe Western Xia regime in diplomacy. There were two reflexes in themilitary system. On the one hand, it reflected the inheriting andmodulation of previous military system. On the other hand, it reflectedthe interflow which happened in the different regimes in the sameperiod. The Liu Qi powers military actions included the crackdown onresistant forces in the Liu Qi power, the military actions which aimed atthe Southern Song Dynasty and the Western Xia regime. The militaryactions which aimed at the Southern Song Dynasty were the mostimportant part of the military actions. Liang huais area and JingXiangarea were the main battlefields. The autumns and winters in1134and1136were two high tides of the military actions. If from the angle ofpeople, the martial talents were the important part of military affairs,too. They brought some effects on the military actions. In the times background of the national conflicts and amalgamations, the Liu Qipowers military affairs brought some positive effects, however, we cantignore the negative effects.The Liu Qi power had ruled the Central Plains for8years, and hadbrought some effects on the Southern Song Dynasty, the Jin Dynastyand the history of the future, so it was an important regime. There aretwo aims in this study. On the one hand, we can know the Liu Qi powerin depth. On the other hand, we can know the early situation of thepolitics and the military affairs about the competition between theSouthern Song Dynasty and the Jin Dynasty in depth. What is more, wecan know the national conflicts and amalgamations in depth.
