This is a translation project report on the translation of Mongolian Folk Customs published in May2010by Inner Mongolia Education Press. It is the text book of the local primary school of Inner Mongolia. As I researched, Mongolian Folk Customs has no English version published until now. I choose the Introduction and first four parts as translation project materials including fourteen texts with17428words in total. I translate the book of Mongolian exotic cultures into English to show the unique cultures to the world. The report consists of five parts. The first part is an introduction of the graduation thesis. The second part is an introduction of the purpose and background of the translation project. The third part includes analysis and comment on the original text and translation preparation. The fourth part discusses the difficulties and challenges encountered in the translation practice of Mongolian Folk Customs and main methods adopted in this translation practice. The fifth part discusses the experiences and inspirations gained from the translation, as well as the limitations of the translation.
