In Chinese culture,the vast collection of educational ancient books is a precious cultual heritage left by our ancestors.The author studies the classic education literature,and taps into the factors that can be used for reference.The theme is to refresh the knowledge from the past,and to be innovative,and to pass on this heritage.Meishan culture is a unique regional culture in Hunan Province.It has a long history of 900 years.It is an indispensable element in Huxiang culture.It is also a part of other regional cultures of Hunan.It has built a splendid Chinese civilization.This report selects Meishan Folklore and Tourism Chapter five(Meishan Folklore and Educational Culture),and mainly introduces Meishan's private school to the readers,and Meishan modern educators.Learning and teaching methods of Meishan and exploring its educational thoughts can promote educational ideas of Hunan and lead the education industry forward.This report selects the fifth chapter of the Meishan educational culture as the text of this translation report,and writes this translation practice report with the guidance of the functional equivalence theory of the famous American linguist and translator Eugene.Nida.The translation practice report is mainly composed of four chapters,namely translation task,translation process,translation case analysis and translation practice summary.The translation task of the first chapter introduces the background and meaning;the translation process of second chapter included preparation before translation,preparation of parallel corpus and auxiliary tools,analysis of text and functional equivalence theory,and post-translation review;Chapter three is cases analysis which is the core chapter of this report.It is guided by functional equivalence theory.From the aspect of cultural load words,the translation is of education-related characteristics,including imperial exams,customary vocabulary,appellation vocabulary,and titles.From the analysis of the flowing sentences and the four-character grids,the appropriate translation methods are derived;from the stylistic level,the relevant translation methods are summarized from the vernacular and descriptive volumes respectively.The translation methods involve alienation,free translation,co-translation,and literal translation.The fourth chapter summarizes this translation practice report,and concludes the shortcomings and experiences in the report.This report is based on a brief analysis and study of "Meishan Folklore and Tourism".The author means to promote the education culture with Chinese characteristics,and to spread the education culture in Huxiang,and to make a contribution to the cultural exchange between China and the West;The method of translation of "Meishan Folklore and Tourism"(Meishan educational culture)is expected to provide some references for educational culture of folklore and cultural texts,so as to arouse people's greater attention and protection to this type of educational culture of folklore;Finally,the translator try to summarize the research methods that is applying to Meishan educational culture.Hope that the teachers can obtain some valuable teaching experience.Hope to provide assistance for the development of national education and culture.We hope Meishan education culture can go global.
