Vietnam has been independent since the Ding established a regime in968AD. After the independence, Vietnam developed a close diplomatic relations with China in the politics, culture and other aspects as a country. In order to obtain the rulers’recognition of Song dynasty, Ding dynasty, Li dynasty and the Chen dynasty in Vietnam constantly sent envoys to the Song dynasty, which had developed technology, advanced culture and mature system. Chinese culture also continued to affect Vietnam.During the Song dynasty-Vietnam period, the exchange of Buddhism between the two countries was quite abundant. The prosperity of Buddhism in Song dynasty was a result of the rapid development of Buddhism in Vietnam. Although Ding dynasty and Li dynasty only existed for a short time, a great deal of people worshiped Buddhism, The Li dynasty was the golden age of Buddhism, during which Buddhism was worshiped as the state religion. In Chen dynasty, Buddhism was still in its peak time, but at that moment the ruler began to suppress the momentum of its development. The exchange of Buddhism books and records between the two countries was the most important part of their books communication. Due to the change of relations between the two countries, the way of spreading Buddhist books was also changed. It was more often for Vietnam to sent officials to China to gain the Buddhist books. And Song dynasty bestowed the books to Vietnam. Buddhist literature in Vietnam was also prosperous. Besides the Chan master, the emperors also made a great contribution to Buddhist literature.Although Confucianism was introduced to Vietnam before, it was not well-developed until the independence of Vietnam. Ding dynasty and Li dynasty adopted the policy of "Worship Buddha inhibitory Confucianism", which led the Buddhism to a difficult situation, but thanks to "Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism coexist" policy, Confucianism began to develop in Li dynasty. In the beginning of Chen dynasty,"Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism coexist" policy enhanced the position of Confucianism in Vietnam. The emperor of Chen dynasty had certain attainments in literature, and Confucianism had deep connection with imperial examination system. Since it was carried out in Vietnam, the imperial examination system had made huge and profound influence in Vietnam. It was in Li dynasty that held the first imperial examination, which was immature and far-from-systemic, but further developed in Chen dynasty and there were more and more Confucian scholar, which provided a solid underpinning for the development of Confucianism. After the independence of Vietnam, the exchange of books and records became more difficult than before because of the changing of diplomatic relations between two countries. The books and records could not be introduced unless the envoys headed north to buy them.Chinese historiography is broad and profound, the history books in Song dynasty has a profound impact, Li Wenxiu who was the runner-up of contemporaneous Chen dynasty in Vietnam wrote a book named "the chronicle of Vietnam", which is the first book compiled under the order of Chen dynasty in Vietnam. Moreover, Champa rice was brought in Song dynasty, which not only solved the food problem, but also affected the Chinese culture and literature. The poems and songs between the monarch and the courtiers could be regarded as the "Champa rice culture". The art of war in Li dynasty developed rapidly, and China had to learn from it. The Cultural Exchange between China and Vietnam were in good condition.
