Being far away from the capital of a country, the transmission route of "ADream of Red Mansions" is limited in Lingnan aera. Few text of print existed until theJiaqing years. But influence was borderless. Lin Zhaotang and Ni Hong havedocumented that the early version of the "Dream of Red Mansions" once spread here,Zhu Fengsen read the original version from his friends. Interaction Of the authorspromoted the acceptance and dissemination of "A Dream of Red Mansions" in theLingnan region. Chen Shaohai and Yu Ling accepted progressive ideas and characterof the original version and continued writing and creative imitation. Reviewerscompared Sequels and imitations with the original version, which once again spreadthe "Dream of Red Mansions". Literati also adapted "Dream of Red Mansions" intodrama. They were faithful to the original in content and accepted the original ideasand typical character, but the initial adaptation showed strong writing tendency, thusthe spread of drama adaptation met limitations in the opera circle. The praises of theliterati of Sequels, pastiche and discussion brought rapidly growing market demand.Print of the publication not only gave more people access to the raw text but alsopromoted further studies. Scholars began brainstorm. On the one hand, they reproducethe story in poetry to express their feeling. Many publications of these poems andliterati’s interaction with each other spread the "Dream of Red Mansions". On theother hand, they commented and annotated the text. Zhang Weiping explored theprototype of the character by assimilate index; Yang Zhangsheng collected andgathered comments and did personage portray by painters’ methods; Tu Ying thoughtthat Jia Baoyu was the mirror of Cao Xueqin himself. All these theorists were uniquein the studies on “dream of red mansions”, leading the future generations. Theresearchers accepted the text by way of analysis, influenced others through profoundthought and promoted the further spread of the "Dream of Red Mansions". Cantoneseopera in Guangxu years and Gui opera by Tang Ching-sung were both adapted andcreated based on the characteristics of the times. Since its content was more popularand it was easier to understand and more suitable for the stage play, it won great dissemination. Civilians with low levels of literacy could better understood it bywatching the performances of "A Dream of Red Mansions", which also gave ordinarypeople the opportunity to contact with the "Dream of Red Mansions". Drama adaptionfocused on love tragedy between Jia Baoyu and Lin Daiyu with the conclusion thattragic fate could not be controlled. And such content was very popular in the folk. Rapworks were adapted in Cantonese and by general aesthetic standards. Besides, thestory contradictions were simplified and characters were modified."Dream of RedMansions" was adapted into a plain of wooden fish book, South Sound, Cantoneseoperatic works for concert, which helped the spread of "Dream of Red Mansions" inthe folk. Adapted rap works reflected the psychological demands of the commonpeople, which contributed to acceptance of the general public. Acceptance and spreadof "Dream of Red Mansions" in the Lingnan region began with the literati and then itspread to the civil.
