A Study On Yan Shengsun And His Qiushui Ci

Yan Shengsun(1623-1702), or Sunyou, or Ouyu(second name), or Oudangyuren(nickname). was born in Wuxi, Jiang Su. He is good at making poetry, Ci, handwriting, and painting.And created a set of work of Ci, named Qiushui Ci.What’s more, as the one of the importantliterati in the turn of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, he is the member of Four CommonerLiterati in Jiang Nan Area with Zhu Yizun, Jiang Chenying and Li Yindu. Qiushui Ci contained111ci lyrics, which involved in exquisite, recollections, exchanging, chanting in painting,chronicle and so on, showed the life trajectories and the real feelings naturally. In the QiushuiCi, Sunyou expressed the love by the Xiaoling, find sustenance in the Ci and created the natureof elegance and beauty. This paper based on the research of Yan Shengsun’ life,excursion andmaking friends,and the Qiushui Ci’s creation conditons and so on. In addition, The Collationsand Annotations of Qiushui Ci and The Chronological Life of Yan Shengsun are attached afterthe text, in order to lay the foundation for the research.
