“Nature” is one of the most unique ethnic categories of Chinese culture withprofound connotation. In this "nature" concept, Chinese literature, art and philosophypresent lots of national charecters. Within the aspect of philosophy theory, the crucialmaster as "natural model" is Laozi, who is famous for his "Tao" theory. As the essence ofnature,“Tao” means a normal state where everything "comes very naturally". He believesthat each part of the univers extends itself to be a fundamental element. What’s more,“Tao” also stands for a behavioral law which prefers inaction to taking action.Chuang-tzu successfully inherits the thought of Laozi and expands it into a series.Chuang-tzu philosophy has an important influence on literature and art as well. Itinvolves two aspects: On one hand, it affirms the physical human nature; On the otherhand, it encourages the natural way of action, for it can also access the natural inactivityrealm. Metaphysics in the Wei and Jin dynasties develop the philosophy of respectfullaozi and zhuangzi spiritual nourishment. They fully extend the connotation of "nature",who makes a great effect upon the literature and art field. In their eyes, the "natural" stateis an aesthetic category from their philosophy which contains formal independence. Thiscategory exerts a far-reaching influence on later Chinese literature and art production.This paper tries to make a theory series of the metaphysical view of nature and showthe evolution of literature and art development. It tries to study the influence of “nature"concept on each period of literary and artistic theory and how the “nature” made itselfshown. Generally, The paper main discusses the influence of natural view in matephysics.The first chapter analyses the main idea of the Wei and Jin Dynasties “nature” theories,and makes cooperation to other point of views of literature and art “nature" theories.What are the new contents. In addition chapter one tells the difference between the"natural" and "nature" concept. It follows that a new kind of "natural" or "human nature"concept which outstands for its new feature of a metaphysical view is forming. We haveto say that any aspect has a great impact on literature and art. In the second chapter, thefocus is fixed on the philosophy understanding the evolution of literature and art from"nature" to "natural". The basic principal is the aesthetic ideas in understanding. Thepaper attaches importance to the discovery of natural beauty and shows great interests to the beauty of nature to human on appreciation. The next two chapters pay attention to theinfluence on natural view in metaphysics and new characteristics on the calligraphy,painting and other art areas. The last chapter discusses how the “nature” conceptcontinues to influence other dynasties ever after.We may safely to say that the aesthetic ideal stems from the spirit of nature. Thecategory of "natural" comes together with the concept of philosophy of existence. As aconcept of literature and art,"nature" concept makes various people to understand theessence of literary and artistic creation attitude and aesthetic pursuit in aestheticscategory. It is a typical Chinese understanding in the field of literature and art whichdeserves to be well discussed.
