A Study Of Yan Shengsun And His Poems

Yan Shengsun was the great man of letters in the Ming and Qing dynasties. In numerous literary at the beginning of the Qing dynasty, he was not limited to a particular genre, but he had the length of their standard. He advocated "spirituality" and forms its own style of "deep elegant", "delicately beautiful" and "pure and fresh natural". He created rich all his life, and the poetry, words, books, paintings were all very good. His works had the "collected works about autumn water”, "biographies of Ming", and he has worked together to write the "Wuxi county annals" with Qin Songling. Now it was preserved 208 pieces of poetry and 110 pieces of Ci poetry. Yan Shengsun claimed that the poetry and Ci had the same root. About the writing poetry, he thought that poetry lied in the "real", and he emphasized to express the block of the mind, finally it was very important to have true temperament. This poetry, the theme is richly colorful, style flat and implicit, language simple and clear. He respected Ci style, and he wrote the ambition in the Ci. At the same time, He tried to "music style into the Ci". Because he wanted that the type of language became elegance and changes the easy popular words to the pure and fresh. The Ci style will be from the connotation and grace to warm nature. And this creates a new wind of the styles of Ci-poetry at the beginning of the Qing dynasty.This paper consists of six parts: the introduction mainly discusses the research status about Yan Shengsun's poetry since the Qing dynasty to comb, in order to find out a clear research idea. In the first chapter, the papers introduce the Yan Shengsun's life experiences and social intercourse. In the second chapter, I mainly discuss Yan Shengsun's mentality and the influence on the creation. In the third chapter, I choose the Yan Shengsun's poems as the research object and analysis of the poetry theme content, then, summarize the artistic value of poetry. In the fourth chapter, I will be analyzing Yan Shengsun's Ci, parsing the unique artistic charm. In the conclusion, the paper summarizes Yan Shengsun's status and influence in the Qing dynasty literature.
