The worship of Xiao Gong god of water was widely popular in the basin of inland river in Ming and Qing Dynasties,which made vessels safe.Worship of Xiao Gong came into being in Dayangzhou, Xingan of Jiangxi province,The worship of Xiao Gong were including three generations——Bo Xuan、Xiang Shu and Tian Ren. Worship of Xiao Gong Initially formed in the Yuan Dynasty,and fully established during Yongle of the Ming Dynasties.The temple of Xiao Gong just existed in the form of a clan family temple Early,The formation of worship of Xiao Gong during the history was closely related to the physical environment and clan of family whose surnames are Xiao,the influence of Xiao Gong got out of the temple, and became the local worship of god of water.The worship of Xiao Gong became significantly with the support of the state in the early of Ming dynasty, twice by the nation because of his contribution in the regional areas as well as the whole nation during the Yongle and Jingtai of the Ming dynasty, thus making him become the orthodoxy spirit. Xiao Gong’s status was raised increasingly. The worship of Xiao Gong began to become widespread and the geographical areas where it spread became broader.Faith groups of Xiao Gong increased from the initial villagers, sailors extended to include all sectors of society during the process of expanding,The hieratic of Xiao Gong increasingly rich, evolving from the Water God to the Almighty God. His influence becoming stronger at the same time,and began to deeply expand in Jiangxi, Sichuan, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hubei, Hunan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Shandong, Henan, Hebei and other regions.The faith distribution pattern of worship of Xiao Gong began to form main area of the Yangtze River basin, and Secondary of the area north of the Huaihe River from the middle and late Ming dynasty.In the process of integration with the different regions of the natural environment, socio-economic and cultural resources,the original uniform the worship of Xiao Gong had also created a form of faith has its own regional characteristics, branded with the deep geographical imprint.The years of Hongzhi in the Ming dynasty as a watershed,the development trend of the worship of Xiao Gong from nationalization to folk,embodiing the Temple of God belief has a strong social adaptability. Along with the spatial and temporal evolution of the worship of Xiao Gong in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,which Carries a certain cultural significance at the national and local community levels, and plays an effective part of the construction of national and local social order. A variety of forces had their own considering in traditional society,and had to participate in the worship of Xiao Gong, Jointly build unique the geographical outlook and development path of the worship of Xiao Gong,made the worship of Xiao Gong become a widely influential phenomenon of social beliefs in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
