Objective: To estimate the therapeutic effect of treating infantile chronic cough withapozema of invigorating spleen and moistening lung. It will give new means on thetreatment of infantile chronic cough, CC.Methods: 40 patients of chronic cough from 2 to 18 years old were entered into theresearch. They were randomly allotted two groups: the treatment group of 20 infants wastreated with apozema of invigorating spleen and moistening lung. The control group of20 infants was treated with Robitussin. Clinical symptom, sign and curative effect of 40patients were detected before and after therapy.Results: The total effective rate of the treatment group was higher than controlgroup’s. In decreasing cough frequency, strengthening somatic substances, improvingappetite and the treatment group excelled the control group. There was not significantdifference in clinical symptoms and signs between 20 patients of the treatment group and20 patients of the control group before therapy (p>0.05), but the improvement of clinicalsymptoms and signs in the treatment groups excelled in the control group.Conclusion: The method of invigorating and moistening lung is an effectiveprinciple in treating infantile chronic cough.
