Objective:To learn about the status of knowledge of and attitude to AIDS among residents in cities, to provide refenrence for strengthening the prevention and carrying out effective decision.Methods:Between July14,2008to September2,2008in Harbin, Qiqihar, Mudanjiang and Jiamusi City, residents were randomly AIDS-related knowledge of the status of the investigation. The model goodness of fit test to prove a reasonable model fit (x2=145.29, df=147, P=0.5243).Conclusion:The survey results show that the general population, the city total rate of AIDS was80.71%, with the national requirements in2005Knowledge about AIDS among urban general population compared to the target to achieve75.00%higher than the5.71percentage point. The results showed that the general population of AIDS knowledge among a large factor in age and occupation. Future advocacy work should focus on a number of highly specialized, misleading knowledge, the elimination of AIDS infected people and AIDS patients, discrimination, and strengthen the city’s self-protection awareness of the general population.
