Research objectives:This study aims to propose the benefits to strengthen the self-health managementcapabilities in middle-aged patients with hypertension in community, which rely onunderstanding the level of self-health management of middle-aged patients withhypertension in community in Yuci, comparing the self-health managementcapabilities in different Social demographic characteristics, analyzing the influencefactors about self-health management capabilities of middle-aged patients withhypertension.Research Methods:This study adopts randomized sampling method that selects5communities as theinvestigation place in Yuci district in Jinzhong city and selects500randommiddle-aged patients with hypertension in communities as the study object. As wellas using the cross-sectional questionnaire survey which adopts the self-designedquestionnaire what is “self-administered questionnaire in patients with hypertensionin community” to conduct investigations. The questionnaire consists of three aspects,including investigator basic data, hypertensive disorders related knowledge andself-management of health-related behaviors, as well as the participation situation in health management activities. In addition, utilizing centralized filling method thatcomes from self-filled questionnaire, which in order to collect testing questionnaire ofself-health management capabilities about all community residents. After collectingthe data, the data was collated and coded. Then database was created and entered bythe Excel2007and SPSS13.0statistical software, which using T-testing, varianceanalysis and linear regression analysis for statistical analysis.Research Results:In total,500questionnaires were distributed,493valid questionnaires wererecovered, and the recovery rate was98.6%. In the hypertension self-healthmanagement behavior, the sore differences is statistical significance (P<0.05) whichrelates to different gender, occupation, level of education, monthly income, medicalpayment method and course of middle-aged patients with hypertension dietmanagement, treatment adherence, daily activities and social psychology. While, thescore differences (P>0.05) about different marital status and the daily activitymanagement of BMI middle-aged patients with hypertension is no statisticalsignificance. Multiple linear regression analysis results showed that enter theregression equation with gender, level of education, the course of the disease, BMIand medical payment method.Research Conclusions:1. The score of female middle-aged hypertension patients is slightly higher thanthe male, which in self-diet management, treatment adherence, dailyactivities, social psychology management aspects. Also, the total level ofthe female’ self-health management is better than that of male patients.2. Intellectuals and other professionals are better than the peasants, workers andcadres in self-diet management and daily activity management; Cadres, intellectuals and other professionals in the treatment compliance and socialpsychology management, are much more superior than farmers andworkers.3. With the higher of the education level, the self-health management capabilityof the hypertension patients is higher.4. The patients who earn2000-3000yuan monthly possessing the highestself-health management ability.5. The self-health management ability of patients who pay their own moneyand pay by other medical payment method is slightly higher than patientswho have the health insurance in province and city, as well as ruralcooperatives.6. The each dimension score of self-health management capability aboutpatients with6-10years and over10years disease is higher than the courseof1year and1-5years, which is contribute to the illness of theaccumulation of knowledge and the formation of health behavior.
