Objective:Explore the chitinase protein (YKL-40) expression and significance in serum of bronchial asthma (bronchial asthma) patients, to further explore the mechanism of bronchial inflammation in asthma. Methods:Object of42cases diagnosed as bronchial asthma patients, their diagnosis of bronchial asthma prevention guide Chinese Society of Respiratory Diseases, Asthma study group will be established, according to internationally accepted ACT scoring system, divided into22cases the disease is not controlled (score of20cases of20points or less) and basic control group (score of20-24points),18cases of normal healthy adults as a control group, was detected in serum YKL-40by ELISA, serum total IgE levels, blood test blood addicted acidic granulocyte count, Germany Jaeger Company Master Screen pulmonary function testing system detects FEV1%, record ACT score results. Results:The average levels of YKL-40in serum of22patients in the control group was164.96±25.69ng/ml, basic disease control group of20patients serum YKL-40levels mean of122.08±18.33ng/ml,18patients in the control group serum YKL-40content mean113.0±14.05ng/ml; three groups mean the comparison is not a control group of patients YKL-40levels were significantly higher than the control group and the control group (P<0.001), patients in the control group and the control group showed no significant YKL-40difference (P=0.179); blood eosinophil count in patients with uncontrolled (0.83±0.24) was significantly higher than the control group (0.46±0.14) and control patients (0.31±0.12)(P<0.001), with a control group the control group, the difference was not significant (P=0.14); total serum IgE levels in patients (516.62±53.52) than in the control group (361.07±48.58) and the control group (359.1±43.40) was significantly increased (P<0.001uncontrolled), between the control group and the control group was not statistically significant (P=0.298); pulmonary function testing is not a control group of patients (64.22±16.60) than the basic disease control patients (79.31±7.89) FEV1%decreased significantly, and the difference was statistically significant (P=0.02); ACT score results are not in the control group (16.04±3.30) compared with basic control group (22.75±1.44) score is low, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.001); correlation analysis showed:In the control group of patients not, the serum YKL-40and total serum IgE was no correlation (r=0.036p=0.872), serum YKL-40was positively correlated with blood eosinophil number as (r=0.826p<0.001), with FEV1%negative correlation (r=-0.607p=0.03), and ACT score was negatively correlated,(r=-0.698p<0.001).Conclusion:YKL-40, total serum IgE, blood eosinophils in patients with the disease has not been well controlled bronchial asthma serum significantly increased, YKL-40, total serum IgE, blood eosinophils in asthmatic disease has been well controlled not significantly elevated serum showed no significant difference between the normal healthy control group, the severity of lung function decline compared with the control group was not controlled, the disease control group of patients not ACT score is generally low, the disease is not in the control group of patients with asthma, YKL-40was positively correlated with elevated blood eosinophils were, and lung function and ACT score was negatively correlated, no correlation with serum total IgE, ACT scores and elevated levels of YKL-40was positively correlated with the patient’s condition can be a common response control of the situation, can be used as a simple clinical detection tools.
