Cross-sectional Investigation And Correlation Study Of Social Support,Coping Style And Subjective Well-being In MSM Of Jinan City

BackgroundMSM refers to the men who have sex with men.MSM is easily infected with HIV due to the presence of multiple sexual partners and unprotected anal sex.AIDS is a group of syndrome to immune system damage as the main feature, its mortality is very high. All levels of government. pay great attention to AIDS because it is popular widely in the world,MSM in our country maybe lead to the third wave after drug crowd and blood groups.At present,MSM has become the most important route of transmission of AIDS in Ji’nan city. Prevention of same-sex sexual transmission has become the priority among priorities to prevent the spread of AIDS in Ji’nan city.In China social environment, the people may need to bear more psychological pressure. Therefore, the investigation of mental health status on this special group, understanding this population of subjective well-being, social support, coping style and mental state to targeted to carry out publicity and education, counseling and behavioral intervention, prevention and control strategies and measures for the relevant departments, to provide social support to this part, to carry out comprehensive care to improve the quality of life, and provide scientific basis, has important social significance and practical significance.ObjectiveUnderstand the social support, coping style and subjective well-being,of MSM in Ji’nan city, analyze the correlation between the social support, coping style and subjective well-being. In addition understand the basic situation of subjective well-being, social support, coping style and the interaction between the three amony the MSM in Ji’nan city who has infected the HIV viruses.MethodsUse the population of MSM who came to HIV voluntary counseling and testing clinics of Jinan Municipal Center For Disease Control&Prevention for the object of study. Subjects in the study were asked to fill in anonymous general well-being scale, Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire, social support rating scale measurement tool, Use excel to establish database, analyze the data with SPSS11.0.ResultsWe collected338valid questionnaires, Among them there were21HIV antibody positive Research shows that Ji’nan City MSM social support score was32.91±6.58, lower than the national norm of social support to34.56±3.73. MSM with different demographic characteristics have significant differences in the total social support and each dimension. The total score of social support and subjective support between MSM with HIV test results positive and negative had significant difference. The positive coping style score of MSM is23.62±5.45, negative coping style score is10.60±3.95.MSM with different demographic characteristics have significant differences between positive and negative coping style.There are no significant differences between MSM whether they infected HIV virus. The subjective well-being average score of MSM in Jinan city was94.83±13.71, It was in the middle and lower level. There are different degree differences between the total score of subjective well-being and6factors among theMSM with different demographic characteristics.The subjective well-being score of HIV positive person significantly lower than the HIV negative person. Use pearson correlation analysis,we found that social support and positive coping style and subjective well-being were positively correlated, while the negative coping style and subjective well-being is significantly negative correlation. Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that social support, subjective support points, positive coping, negative coping style is the influence factors of subjective well-being.Conclusions and suggestionsThe social support and subjective well-being level of MSM in Ji’nan City are lower than the general population,These levels of HIV positive person is significantly lower than HIV negative person.We suggest that we should carry out routine HIV/AIDS prevention and control work at the same time increase the psychological care and social support work of MSM in Jinan city.establish a complete set of social support system including health education and behavior intervention, psychological consultation service etc. Help the MSM to use positive coping style, Improve MSM’s subjective well-being through the full range of psychological intervention and social support.Avoid their depression because of different sexual orientation reduce depression to indulge in vicious spiral, to build a harmonious social environment; Also we should pay attention to carry out mental health intervention vigorously in AIDS related knowledge training for HIV virus infection in MSM crowd at the same time. With tolerance and understanding attitude to the HIV positive patients, help them to recognize the problem, ease the anxiety generated due to AIDS, psychological crisis intervention, to make them accept the situation, develop a positive coping style, improve mental health, improve the health and quality of life.
