A Meta-analysis Of Human Leukocyte Antigen-DRB1Polymorphism And The Risk For Cervical Cancer

Objective To provide a quantitative summary in estimating relationship between HLA-DRB1polymorphism and cervical cancer, this meta-analysis was performed.Methods All of the articls were searched using " cervical cancer "or "cervical carcinoma ","polymorphisms" or "alleles", in combination with " HLA-DRB1" and "human leukocyte antigen"on Databases CNKI,VIP, Wang fang, CBM, PubMed, Medline, Elsevier Science, Springer Link, Cochrane Library database. They were original case-control studies on the relationship between human leukocyte antigen-DRB1and cervical cancer susceptibility, and published between their earliest available date and April2013. The articls with poor-qualified studies were excluded. RevMan5.0was applied in the process of analysising these data of12case-control studies. The Peto odds ratios were calculated by applying fixed effect model if heterogeneity did not exist among the results but the odds ratios were calculated by applying Dersimonian-Laird random effect model in case of heterogeneity. Potential publication bias were assessed by using Begg’s and Egger’s tests. The data analysis was performed STATA10software with two-sided P value.Results A total of1596patients with cervical cancer and2048controls from the12studies on the relationship between gene polymorphism of HLA-DRB1and cervical cancer were performed. HLA-DRB1*03、HLA-DRB1*08and HLA-DRB1*12were the protective genotype (all P<0.05) in Chinese population. HLA-DRB1*10, HLA-DRB1*14, HLA-DRB1*15, HLA-DRB1*0301、HLA-DRB1*0403, HLA-DRB1*0404, HLA-DRB1*0803, HLA-DRB1*1312and HLA-DRB1*1502were the risky alleles (all P<0.05) in Chinese population.Conclusion These results of our meta analysis suggest that some HLA-DRB1alleles are associated with cervical cancer in Chinese population.
