Objective The purposes of this study are:(1) To probe into the effect of dietary therapy in changing of lipids and constitution of patients of phlegm wet Constitution.(2) To evaluate the effectiveness of dietary therapy in improving patient’s quality of life.(3)To create the dietary therapy mode which meets the hyperlipidemia patients of phlegm wet constitution. Methods This study adopted randomized controlled trials. A total of72hyperlipidemia patients of phlegm wet constitution were selected according to enrollment criteria and were divided into the intervention group (36) and the control grope (36) randomly in the community. Patients of the intervention group were given dietary therapy and the control group were giving commom community nursing for12weeks. Patients’lipids were measured and symptoms of patient of phlegm wet constitution were evaluated at baseline and after intervention4,8,12weeks. Patients’weight, abdominal circumference, BMI and quality of life and were evaluated before and after intervention12weeks.Results (1)After intervention8weeks, significant differences were found in TG, TC, LDL in the intervention group compared to the control group and baseline respectively (P<0.05); After intervention12weeks, significant differences were found in TG, TC, LDL and HDL in the intervention group compared to the control group and baseline respectively (P<0.05).(2)Patients of phlegm wet constitution in the intervention group was improved significantly after intervention (P<0.05).(3) After intervention12weeks, patients’quality of life points (physical functioning、role physical、bodily pain、vitality) had increased in intervention group compared to the control group and (physical functioning、role physical、bodily pain、 general health、vitality、role emotional) had increased in intervention group compared to baseline (P<0.05).(4) After intervention12weeks, there were significant differences in patients’weigh, abdominal circumference, BMI and lipids were lowered in the intervention group compared to baseline (P<0.05), while there was no significant difference compared to the control group (P>0.05).Conclusion (1) Dietary therapy is a good tool, which could lower blood lipids and improve quality of life on hyperlipidemia patients of phlegm wet constitution.(2) Dietary therapy may regulate phlegm wet constitution of hyperlipidemia patients.(3) This study may provide the evidence of dietary theory for application in the prevention and control of hyperlipidemia.
