Research On Medical Imprints And Influences Of Block Printing In Jianyang

Medical books is an important vehicle for spreading medical knowledge, and printing them plays an important role in cultural heritage and development of traditional Chinese medicine. The "Book House" of Jianyang has been one of the centers of block printing in China during the Song,Yuan and Ming Dynasties. Many medical books, what were published in Jianyang, have wide circulation, rich content and new layout.They make a significant contribution to the popularization and development of traditional Chinese medical culture, what’s more,they can not be ignored in ancient books of traditional Chinese medicine. However, presently the research of medical imprints and influences of block printing in Jianyang is still insufficient, and there were no literature which conduct comprehensive research on bibliography of the all block-printed medical books in Jianyang,involving books’title,volume,publication date etc.,and circulation and influence on Jianyang block-printed medical books. For this reason,in this text,the bibliography of block-printed medical books in Jianyang was roundly collected and sorted by the means of investigating chronicles in Fujian,various bibliothecal documents and materials,and carrying out field survey,and furthermore,the influences of block-printed medical books in Jianyang were deeply explored in historical development way to show a general survey of the Jianyang block-printed medical books,to provide assistance to the history of ancient books of traditional Chinese medicine and medical development in Fujian, and to enlighten readers on researching about the medicine and cultural resources in Fujian,also to further the medical history and literature research of Fujian.The preface concerns mainly the background,significance,scope and approach of research on imprints and influences of block-printed medical books in Jianyang:In the first chapter, in order to summarize the block printing in Jianyang,analysis of the reason for the prosperity of block printing in Jianyang was conducted from five aspects of economy,culture,bibliotheca,materials,transportation, and the reason for the deline of block printing in Jianyang during the Qing Dynasty was also analysed from thress aspects of frequent social ravages of war, national policies, market competitiveness; In the second chapter,a brief overview of medical development of Jianyang district during the Song, Yuan,Ming and Qing Dynasties was gived; In the third chapter,general situation of the block printing in Jianyang based on chronicles in Fujian was visted,revealing the features of information of block-printed medical books in Jianyang in chronicles.On this condition,further the bibliography of the all block-printed medical books in Jianyang was formed by collecting,sorting and investigating historical materials, the major librarys’ collection of rare books,bibliography during the Song,Yuan,Ming and Qing Dynasties,and both ancient and modern research literatures.What’s more,analysis of the all block-printed medical books in Jianyang was conducted from thress aspects of publication date,publisher and content; In the last chapter, the difference between the Ming Jianyang Bookstore medical books and Jinling was analyzed, the characteristic of block-printed medical books in Jianyang was summarized, the value of block-printed medical books in Jianyang was objectively estimated, the circulation and influence on Jianyang block-printed medical books both at home and abroad were explored.
