Objectives:The aim of this research was to investigate the current status of the jobembeddedness and intent to stay against community nurses in Changchun of Jilinprovince and analyze the relationship between job embeddedness and intent to stay.According to the results, some targeted suggestions were put forward for therelevant department to promote the job retention of nurses.Methods:This study adopted the method of convenience sampling. We selected4administrative districts in Changchun and all community nurses met the inclusioncriteria were investigated. The job embeddedness and intent to stay questionnaire forcommunity nurses was used in the research. The valid questionnaires were numberedafter verification. The database was established by EpiData3.1, and the data wasstatistically analyzed by using the software of SPSS17.0. Frequency and percentagewere used for the count data. Mean±standard deviation was used for themeasurement data. Pearson coefficients and Spearman coefficients were used forcorrelation analysis, and Multivariate stepwise regression was used for multiple-factoranalysis.Results:1. The average score of intent to stay of community nurses in Changchun was3.97±0.78. In the six entries of intent to stay, the entry of "Did you never consider toleave the work?" got the lowest score which was3.14±1.54, and the entry of "Thefrequency of striving to seek a new job for you was__" got the highest score whichwas4.83±0.45.2. The mean score of job embeddedness of community nurses in Changchun was 2.97±0.46. The mean score of the on-the-job was2.87±0.38, and the mean score ofthe on-the-job fits was3.50±0.44, the mean score of the on-the-job links was2.56±0.61, the mean score of the on-the-job sacrifice was2.55±0.36. The mean score ofthe off-the-job was3.07±0.73, and the mean score of the off-the-job fits was3.18±0.91, the mean score of the off-the-job links was3.19±0.90, the mean score of theoff-the-job sacrifice was2.84±0.97.3. There were positively correlated between the general information ofcommunity nurses in Changchun and intent to stay,job embeddedness and thedimensions of job embeddedness.4. There were positively correlated between the intent to stay of communitynurses in Changchun and job embeddedness, the dimensions of job embeddedness.Conclusions:1. The intent to stay of community nurses in Changchun was at a high level.2. The job embeddedness of community nurses in Changchun was in moderate.3. There were positively correlated between the intent to stay of communitynurses in Changchun and job embeddedness.4. The factors of intention to stay of Changchun community nurses include age,income, on-the-job fits, on-the job links and off-the-jib links.
