Objective The objectives of the study are to describe the quality of life, family function and social support of the psychiatric nurse in Changsha city, to explore the relationship among them, to explore the influencing factors of psychiatric nurses on the quality of life, and provide scientific basis for making related strategies to improve the quality of life in psychiatric nurses. Methods A cross section investigation was used in this study. There are256psychiatric nurses were selected randomly from the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, Brain Hospital of Hunan Province and Changsha Psychiatric Hospital in the study. They all completed the WHOQOL-BREF, FAD, SSRS, SAS, SDS and the general condition questionnaire to evaluate the quality of life, family function and social support, etc, respectively. Using the SPSS19.0statistical software to establish data bank, carry out data entry, sorting, statistic handle and analysis. Statistical description:mean and standard deviation described the continuous variables, frequency and constituent ratio described the numeric variables. Statistical analysis:the t-test was applied to variables that show normality, homogeneity of variance, t-tests or Wilcoxon rank sum test were applied to variables that show non-normality, non-homogeneity of variance between two groups; F test and SNK test were applied to variables that show normality, homogeneity of variance, Kruskal-Wallis H and Mann-Whitney U-test were applied to variables that show non-normality, non-homogeneity of variance between three or above groups; Spearman’s correlation coefficient was used to establish correlation between two variables; logistic regression analysis the factors that influence quality of life. In all the statistical evaluations, P values<0.05were considered to be statistically significant.Results1、The total score of quality of life was58.79±10.78, compared with norm has no obvious statistical significance (P>0.05). Comparison of dimensions of quality of life, the score of physiological domain was highest, then the social domain and psychological domain, the environmental domain was lowest. Compared with the norm, the score of physiological domain was significantly lower and social domain was significantly higher (P<0.05), but there was no significant differences between the other dimensions with the norm(P>0.05).2、The total score of FAD was1.98±0.37, the score of problem solving dimension was2.07±0.37, the score of communication dimension was2.12±0.36, the score of roles dimension was2.29±0.28, the score of affective responsiveness dimension was2.21±0.40, the score of affective involvement dimension was2.27±0.42, the score of behavior control dimension was2.36±0.25.3、The total score of SSRS was40.65±7.59, the score of subjective support dimension was10.41±3.01, the score of objective support dimension was22.25±4.94, the score of support availability dimension was7.99±1.72.4、Single factor analysis reviewed that the quality of life in psychiatric nurse between different sex, academic career, working lifetime in psychiatric hospital, healthy problems, thinking resignation was significantly different(P<0.05).5、Correlation analysis reviewed that the quality of life was negatively correlated with anxiety, depression, their family function and positively correlated with social support.6、Logistic regression analysis reviewed that the factors that influence quality of life of psychiatric nurse were age, marital status, working life time, night shift frequency, anxiety score, depression score, family function and social support.Conclusions1、TThe quality of life of psychiatric nurse in Changsha was at a moderate level.2、The quality of life is negatively correlated with the score of anxiety, depression and family function, but positively correlated with social support. Keeping their mental health and improve the function of the family or elevating their social support could improve their quality of life.3、The factors that influence the quality of life were sex, age, educational background, healthy conditions, marital status, professional duration, the frequence of night shift, the attitude to work(willingness to leave).
