Objective: To develop a reliable and valid patient satisfaction scale for measuringnursing care and analyze the related factors so as to seek for the intervention to furthersatisfy the patients. Methods:Based on published scales and the experts’ advices, the questionnairegets improved and the initial scale is informed with its reliability and validity beingtested. The current situation and influential factors of the patients’ satisfaction areanalyzed through statistical methods like t-test, variance analysis and so on.Results:The patient satisfaction scale contains28closed items,1open item and5factors, consisting of health education and guidance, personal characteristics and serviceattitude, quality of service, reception, and hospital discharge guidance. Split-half valueis0.882, Cronbach α coefficient is0.939, Cronbach α coefficient of each factor isabove0.8. The correlation coefficients are between0.518~0.773. Five factors arearranged according to the score as follows (from high to low), personal characteristicsand service attitude having the highest score(4.81±0.35), and hospital dischargeguidance having the lowest score(4.29±1.18), which indicates that the scores of thescale has a high concordance with the patient interviews. Conclusions: The scale, with good reliability and validity, could fully reflectpatient’s satisfaction degree.
