Objectives To develop of the patient satisfaction with nursing care questionnaire in the general hospital (PSNCQ ) ,suited for the current nursing job in our country with the scientificity, practicability and veracity. Methods At first, we conducted 134 inpatient in a hospital to obtain the detailed patient feedback of the nursing demands . Based on it, we developed the primary PSNCQ . Then, by the two turns of Delphi method, we formed the mainframe and contents of the questionnaire after modifying the factors and the items based on the expert's opinions. Finally, the primary questionnaire was sent to the planned discharge patients. The examination of the reliability and validity was based on Cronbach α , Spearman correlation coefficient and Kaiser-Meyer-Oklin measure.Results1.The contents of the PSNCQ reflected the true demands of the inpatient with the nursing care. By the investigation of 134 inpatients, the results showed all the demands on the prompt service, the technical-professional ability, the caring and communication, the physical surrounding and the health education were higher. But more demands were on the technical-professional ability and the health education. According to the results, we developed the primary questionnaire with 5 aspects and 26 items covering the above mentioned patient demands.2. The contents of the PSNCQ integrated the opinions of the experts. In the study, 36 experts involved in the manager, the hospital manager, the statistician, the nursing managers and the head nurses were invited to attend the study. The statistics results showed that the overall authority grade was 0.8886. By the two turns of Dephi, the rate of the callback was 94.4%, 88.9% respectively. Combiningwith the patient demands, we revised one aspect and deleted two items, incorporated two items, revised 12 items and added five items totally. Finally, the questionnaire with 5 aspects and 24 items, using 5-point Likert-type had been developed.3. Reliability and validity analysis. The overall internal consistency reliability of the PSNCQ wasO.9693 for respondents (n=229) in the study. The lowest Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the aspects was 0.7934 and the highest was 0.9380.The Spearman correlation coefficient among all aspects were less than the internal consistency of each aspect measured by Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The correlation coefficient between total scores and each aspect was also smaller than the total alpha. The correlation between each item and their aspects were higher than that with other aspects. These findings provided strong support for convergent and discriminated validity.Principal component analysis method for the 23 items showed that 3 component was extracted. The cumulate was 70.38%. The oblinin with Kaiser normalication extracted the factors showed that the total 21 items falling within the component. At last, the questionnaire with 3 dimensions (service and technology, caring and consideration, environment and nursing guide) and 22 items(including the item of the total evulation )had been developed.ConclusionsThe questionnaire suited for the current nursing job in our country and measured by statistical analysis was initiatively developed.
