Objective: It is a study of investigation. We want to test the advantages ofdouble-bundle reconstruction of ACL with8strand autogenous gracilis orsemitendinosus tendon graft rather than single-bundle with4strand autogenous gracilisor semitendinosus tendon. Methods: We chose thirty-three ACL rupture patients who were reconstructedwith single-bundle4strands autogenous gracilis or semitendinosus tendon graft orwith double-bundle8strands autogenous gracilis or semitendinosus tendon graftarthroscopically. We evaluate the knee’s stabilization and the range of motion. Thepatients were evaluated with IKDC, Lysholm and Tegner rating scale with followed updata. Results: The time of the following up is from half year to18months (mean11months). The double-bundle IKDC knee score were (42.2±5.8) preoperatively and(93.4±4.8) postoperatively; The single-bundle IKDC knee score were (43.4±5.5)preoperatively and (89.7±3.7) postoperatively (P<0.05).The double-bundle Lysholmknee score were (45.7±6.1) preoperatively and (94.8±3.7) postoperatively; Thesingle-bundle Lysholm knee score were (46.8±4.9) preoperatively and (90.8±3.3)postoperatively (P<0.05).The double-bundle Tegner sport level were (3.4±0.7)preoperatively and (6.3±0.5) postoperatively; The single-bundle Tegner sport levelwere (3.7±0.6) preoperatively and (6.1±0.4) postoperatively (P<0.05). In all cases, theknees’ ability of sport were improved. Conclusion: Arthroscopic single-bundle reconstruction of ACL with4strandautogenous gracilis or semitendinosus tendon graft double-bundle reconstruction ofACL with8strand autogenous gracilis or semitendinosus tendon graft are both reliable methods to restore the stabilization and the function of the knee. Double-bundlereconstruction of ACL with8strand has more advantages than single-bundlereconstruction of ACL with4strand autogenous gracilis or semitendinosus tendongraft. |
