Research backgroundHigh-tech and high-risk are the most important characteristics of the medical works, so the life and work pressure resulted by which is more serious than any other occupations, if health care workers long-term living in this environment, the body health will eventually be damaged. The health status of the health workers will not only directly affect the quality of the medical services they provided and the work efficiency, and also bring negative impact on the stability of professional technical team and hospitals’ development and competitive force.ObjectiveThis study aimed to find out the health status of health professionals in county level hospitals of Tongliao city in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, and then explore the main influencing factors, to provide theoretic basis help to propose suggestions and advice for health management sectors in order to improve health professionals’ health status.Materials and methods200doctors and nurses worked in three county hospitals of Tongliao city were randomly chosen in this study to be interviewed by using structured questionnaires. Before survey, a comprehensive training was conducted to the investigators, survey methods ware unified, questionnaires were focused distribution, complete in the form of centralize or separate, the questionnaires were unified recovery. Data were analyzed by the SPSS17.0.Main ResultsAll the health professionals without any difficulty in action,12.1%of doctors have pain or discomfort in their body,16.2%feel anxious or depressed,28.3%feel their health status were general or bad. Doctors living together with their parents feel good or very good health than the doctors do not live together with their parents. The proportion of feel their bodies was good or very good were highest in Senior titles doctors.7.4%of the nurses have problems in self-care,4.3%have problems in engaged activities of daily living.18.9%have pain or discomfort in their body,19.0%feel anxious or depressed,28.4%feel their health status were general or bad. The proportion of feel their body was bad was lowest in Mongolian nurses. The proportion of have no problems in engaged activities of daily living in nurses married was higher than no married. Nurses in Pediatrics have the lowest proportion of have no problem in self-care. Nurses with Graduate degree have the highest proportion of have problem in self-care, engaged activities of daily living, have pain or discomfort in their body. Nurses who have no management positions had the highest proportion of feel anxiety or depression. The proportion of have problems with self-care in nurses was higher than doctors, there is no statistical difference in other questions between doctors and nurses.ConclusionsThe physical and mental health status of the health professionals in county level hospitals of Tongliao city were better than the national average level, but there were still some health problems in health professionals need to be improved. The health status of the health professionals should be pay attention, health education should be strengthened to the health professionals, strategies and measures should be made according to the characteristics of the health professionals to improve their health status.
