Objective:The expression of SOX-2protein and OCT-4protein in normal ovariantissue, ovarian serous cystadenoma tissue and ovarian serous cystadenocarcinomatissue was tested by immunohistochemistry. The relationship between histologicaldifferentiation,operation-pathologic stages and the expression of SOX-2protein andOCT-4protein in ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma was studied to explore the roleand the mean of them in the generation, development, treatment and prognosis ofovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma. Methods:The expressions of SOX-2protein and OCT-4protein in57specimens ofovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma,23specimens of ovarian serous cystadenoma and15specimens of normal ovary were detected by S-P immunohistochemistry.Therelationship of the clinical pathology features and correlations between theexpressions of two proteins in ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma was studied.Datesin this study were evaluated with X~2test,Fisherman exact test and Spearmancorrelation test using SPSS17.0software.Results:1. S-P immunohistochemistry showed the difference of the expression rates ofSOX-2in normal ovarian tissue, ovarian serous cystadenoma tissue and ovarianserous cystadenocarcinoma tissue were significant(6.7%,43.5%and73.7%,X~2=23.49,P<0.005).The positive express rates of SOX-2in ovarian serousadenocarcinoma tissue follow the decline of histological differentiation (G1:52.6%,G2:73.3%,G3:91.3%,X~2=8.02,P<0.025).The positive expression of SOX-2inovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma tissue was correlated to histologicaldifferentiation and operation-pathologic stages (X~2=6.12,P<0.030),but not to lymphnode metastasis(X~2=0.037,P>0.1).2. The positive expression rates of OCT-4in normal ovarian tissue, ovarianserous cystadenoma tissue and ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma tissue were up gradually(0,30.4%and68.4%,X~2=26.24,P<0.005).The positive expression of Oct-4in ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma tissue was correlated to lymph nodemetastasis(X~2=4.26,P<0.05)and operation-pathologic stages(X~2=4.04,P<0.050),notto histological differentiation(X~2=3.17,P>0.100).3. The expression of SOX-2was positively correlated to that of OCT-4.inovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma(r=0.724,P<0.05).Conclusion:1. The expression of SOX-2protein and OCT-4protein plays an important rolein carcinogenesis and development of ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma.2.Comprehensive analysis of SOX-2protein and OCT-4protein maybe canimprove diagnosis rate of ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma.
