ObjectivesTo evaluate the effect of Therapeutic Touch on preoperative anxiety, pulse, blood pressure among women undergoing gynaecological surgrey.providingeffective interventions to help patients to better meet the surgery and promotesrecovery.Methods140patients were randomly divided into two groups, include control groupand intervention group, every group had70cases. In addition to routine care, thepatients in the intervention group received therapeutic touch(the noon beforesurgery, the night before surgery, the morning of surgery day),15~20minutes pertime.Control group only received routine care.State Anxiety inventory(SAI), bloo-d pressure, pulse of two groups were assessed and compared respectively onthe preoperative noon before the intervention, the night before surgery, the morni-ng of surgery day, statistical description, two independent sample t-test,non-par-ametric test, repetitive measures ANOVA were used in the data analysis.ResultsThe designed cases was140,excluding9cases, the final effective caseswas131,65cases in intervention group,66cases in control group.①SAI werehigher than the national norm on the preoperative noon, the difference wasstatistically significant (P<0.05).②S AI,pulse and blood pressure were comparedbetween the two groups by using repeated measures ANOVA on the preoperativ-e noon before the intervention, the night before surgery, the morning of surgeryday, showed that the main effects of time on SAI,pulse and blood pressure were statistical significance(P<0.05); SAI,pulse and blood pressure were differentwith the change of time without considering intervention; except blood pressure, the main effects of intervention on SAI,pulse were statistical significance(P<0.05);SAI,pulse were different with the change of intervention without considerin-g time;there were significant interactions between time factors and interventionlevel(P<0.05).③There were statistical significant difference between two groupsin SAI and pulse on the night before surgery, the morning of surgery day(P<0.05),no statistical significance difference between two groups in blood pressure onthe night before surgery(P>0.05),but there statistical significance between bloodpressure on the morning of surgery day (P<0.05).Conclusions1、The anxiety of gynecological patients on the noon before surgery is higherthan the national norm.2、Therapeutic touch can relieve preoperative anxiety and stabilize thepatient’s pulse among women undergoing gynaecological surgrey.Bloodpressure is not sensitive to therapeutic touch, but therapeutic touch can stabilizeblood pressure on the morning of surgery day.
