| ObjectiveThe aim of the present paper was to investigate ATP-binding cassettetransporter1R219K gene polymorphism in Han population in the westernregion of Liaoning and its association with blood lipids and acute myocardialinfarction.Methods217patients admitted by Department of Cardiology, the First Hospitalaffiliated to Liaoning Medical College between December2011and May2012were selected and divided into acute myocardial infarction group (n=104) andcontrol group (n=113). This was a case-control study. The genotype and allelefrequencies of ABCA1R219K genetic variation were assayed by polymerasechain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphism. BiochemicalAnalyzer was used to measure the serum lipids profiles.Results1ã€ABCA1-R219K gene polymorphisms exists in Han population of westernLiaoning province and the distribution of the R219K polymorphisms in healthypeople is as following: RR is29.8%, RK is47.4%and KK is22.8%.Thedistribution of the R219K polymorphisms in AMI group people is as following:RR is43.7%, RK is45.6%and KK is10.7%.2ã€There was a significant difference of genotype distribution between RR,RK, KK and R, K allele(P<0.05). 3ã€In the healthy control group, the HDL-C levels with K allele carriers werehigher than non-K carriers (P <0.05), and the distribution of the difference wasstatistically significant(P<0.01). There was no significant difference in thelevels of TC, TG and LDL-C between genotype subgroups (P>0.05).ConclusionsABCA1-R219K gene polymorphism was association with acutemyocardial infarction. The study showed that polymorphism of ABCA1-R219Khad great influence on plasma HDL-C and K allele had an effect on decreasedAMI risk. The HDL-C levels with K allele carriers were higher than non-Kcarriers. |
