Objective To understand the status quo and influencing factors of post-90s clinicalnursing students’ caring ability and clinical learning environment, and analyze thecorrelation between students’ caring ability and clinical learning environment. Methods A convenient cluster sampling method was used to select346post-90sclinical nursing students in6general teaching hospitals in Hefei city. The researchinstruments included three questionnaires:clinical nursing students’general situation questionnaire, caring ability inventory(CAI),and nursing clinicallearning environment scale(NCLES).We set up the quantitative database usingEpiData3.1after checking and coding questionnaires.SPSS19.0software was used forstatistical analyses.Statistical methods included descriptive statistics,t test, analysis ofvariance, Wilcoxon rank sum test, Kruskal-Wallis H test, multivariate regressionanalysis,Pearson correlation analysis and Spearman correlation analysis. Results (1)The total score of CAI was203.40±14.25.There were significantdifferences in the caring ability among nursing students who were different ingenders, educational levels, whether as a class leader, the relationship with parents, thereasons for choosing nursing as profession and different levels of hospitals.Multipleregression analysis results showed that the impact of nursing students’ caring ability ofthe main factors smallest followed by hospital grade, educational level, the relationship with parents, whether as a class leader and the reason for choosing nursing asprofession.(2)The total score of clinical learning environment was146.93±15.72.Thescore of every dimension from the first to the last was task location, work atmosphereand team culture, student participation, interpersonal relation, innovation andindividuation. There were significant differences in the total score among nursingstudents who were different in genders, educational levels, whether as a class leader, therelationship with parents, the reasons for choosing nursing as profession and differentlevels of hospitals.Multiple regression analysis showed that educational level, therelationship with parents, whether as a class leader and hospital grade were maininfluence factors of clinical learning environment.(3)There was positive correlationbetween the caring ability and clinical learning environment of nursing students.Workatmosphere and team culture, interpersonal relation, innovation, individuation and tasklocation were contributed to the caring ability, which can explain62.2percent of itsvariance. Conclusion Most post-90s nursing students are moderately satisfied with clinicallearning environment while their caring ability remains to be improved. Therefore, clinical nurses should take corresponding measures to create favorable clinical learningenvironment,so as to promote the caring ability of nursing students.
