ObjectiveTo explore the effect of CDIO teaching mode on clinical practice of Internal Medicine of undergraduate nursing students and provide new ways for the nursing clinical practice.MethodsThis study was quasi-experimental.Students in nursing class1 admitted in 2012 were selected as the control group(n=30)and taught with traditional method for clinical practice of Internal Medicine,while students in nursing class 2(n=30)admitted in 2012 were selected as the observation group and asked to carry out CDIO teaching method.“Questionnaire of the general situation”,“independent learning scale”,“CTDI–CV”and “clinical communication skills assessment scale’”were used to measure the baseline before the intervention.After the intervention,the students fill out the the three scales and were measured the final exam results.Using the SPSS17.0 software to analyzed the data.Using statistical descriptive,pair t-test,two-sample t-test and Chi-square test to analysis the data.Results1.General information resultsThere was no significant difference between the gender,age,the origin of students and the course results.2.Before the probation,the total scores of self-directed learning,critical thinking and clinical communication ability were no significant difference between the control group and observation group(P>0.05).3.After the intervention,the total scores of independent learning ability,critical thinking ability and clinical communication ability and scores of learning motivation,cooperation ability,information quality,search for the truth,open mind,systematic ability,critical thinking,intellectual curiosity,cognitive maturity,confidence building harmonious relations,confirmed the patient problem,participation,effective message in the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P <0.05).4.After the intervention,the observation group’s total scores of independent learning ability,critical thinking ability and clinical communication ability and scores of learning motivation,cooperation ability,information quality,open mind,analytical ability,systematic ability,intellectual curiosity,the cognitive maturity,building harmonious relationship,keen to listen and effective message were significantly higher than before(P<0.05).The control group’s total scores of independent learning ability,critical thinking ability and clinical communication ability and scores of all dimensions were no significant difference P>0.05.5.After the intervention,the theory scores of final exam were no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).The observation group’s scores of Case analysis were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion1.Application of CDIO teaching mode in clinical practice of internal medicine of undergraduate nursing students can improve nursing student’s independent learning ability,critical thinking ability and clinical communication ability.2.CDIO teaching mode can improve clinical practice quality and can be applied in clinical practice teaching. |
