Objective:By investigating the current situation of humanistic caring ability and communication ability of clinical medicine undergraduates in a university in Jilin Province,this paper analyzes the factors affecting their humanistic caring ability and communication ability and the correlation between them.Therefore,it provides some data support and theoretical basis for the medical humanistic education and teaching reform in medical colleges and universities,then provides reference for cultivating the humanistic caring ability and communication ability of clinical medical undergraduates,as well as helping to promote the quality of medical personnel training.Methods:This study adopts the methods of stratified cluster random sampling to select 1094 students from 15 “Five-year clinical medicine” classes and 15 “ "5+3" clinical medicine”classes in a university in Ji Lin Province.The survey contents included basic information of clinical medicine undergraduates,Caring Ability Inventory(CAI),Supportive Communicative Scale(SCS)and so on.Questionnaire data was collected with the help of Questionnaire Star platform from March to August 2020.A total of1,094 questionnaires were collected.After eliminating invalid questionnaires,991 were collected as valid questionnaires with effective recovery rate of 90.6%.IBM SPSS24.0was used for statistical analysis of the questionnaire data.Descriptive statistical analysis was used for the basic information of the respondents.Independent sample t test and analysis of variance were used to analyze the differences of humanistic caring ability and communication ability of clinical medicine undergraduates in different basic situations.Multiple linear regression was used to analyze the factors affecting the humanistic caring ability and communication ability of clinical medicine undergraduates.Correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were used to study the correlation between humanistic caring ability and communication ability,P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results:1.The present situation of clinical medicine undergraduates’ humanistic caring ability: The average score of humanistic caring ability of 991 clinical medicine undergraduates in this survey was(186.12±18.40),and the scores in each dimension were: cognitive dimension(73.23±10.11),patient dimension(60.69±6.20),courage dimension(52.21±10.64).2.Analysis of influencing factors of humanistic caring ability: By multiple linear regression analysis,major training mode,gender,the one-child,reasons for medical choice,liking degree of this specialty,parents’ care degree and peer’s care degree,cognition of medical humanities education,attend a training or lecture,mastery degree of medical humanistic knowledge,teacher’s demonstration role are the influencing factors of clinical medicine undergraduates’ humanistic caring ability.3.The present situation of clinical medicine undergraduates’ communication ability:The average score of communication ability of 991 clinical medicine undergraduates in this survey was(50.43±7.11),and the scores in each dimension were: coaching and consulting(8.04±1.84),provide effective negative feedback(15.61±3.03),supportive communication(26.78±4.02).4.Analysis of influencing factors of communication ability: Through the analysis of multiple linear regression equations,it can be seen that gender,the one-child,grade,internship experience,mother’s education level,participation in training or lectures,teacher’s caring degree and teacher’s demonstration function are the influencing factors of clinical medicine undergraduates’ communication ability.5.The correlation between humanistic caring ability and communication ability of clinical medicine undergraduates: Through correlation analysis,the communication ability of clinical medicine undergraduates was significantly positively correlated with humanistic caring ability and various dimensions(r=0.420,0.287,0.270,0.409,P<0.01).Among them,the correlation coefficient between communication ability and cognitive dimension is the highest,and the correlation coefficient between coaching and consulting and patient dimension is the lowest.According to multiple linear regression equations,coaching and consulting and supportive communication are the influencing factors of cognitive dimension,providing effective negative feedback and supportive communication are the influencing factors of humanistic caring ability and patient dimension,and providing effective negative feedback is the influencing factor of courage dimension.Conclusions:The humanistic caring ability of clinical medicine undergraduates is at a low level,and their communication ability is at a medium level,which both need to be further improved and the communication ability of clinical medicine undergraduates positively influences the humanistic caring ability.Therefore,in order to cultivate and reshape the humanistic caring ability and communication ability of clinical medicine undergraduates,according to the research results and the actual situation,this study puts forward suggestions from three aspects,such as building offline and online cultural education platform to realize the embedded development of medical humanistic education;Strengthen the construction of teaching staff by enriching related medical humanities courses;As the main body of medical education,clinical medical undergraduates should pay more attention to medical humanistic education,establish correct professional values and cultivate medical humanistic spirit.
