Marigold (Tagetes erecta L.) is an important landscaping flowers, long flowering period,bright colors, adaptable, easy cultivation, generally planted in all over the country. Marigoldis an important raw material of Marigod Lutein extraction. Because Marigod Lutein have lotsof important pharmacological activity such as antioxidant, anti-tumor, bactericidal, so there isa promising future for marigold standardized planting.In China, the export quantity of the dried granules of Marigold and Marigold Luteinextraction was more than Europe and America. With the EU imported product standardsimproved, the marigold products quality requirements are higher than before. The limit valuerequirements of heavy metals, arsenic and traditional extraction solvent hexane become morestringent. The purpose of this research is to combine the characteristics of sub-tropicalclimate, the introduction by screening incubation, suitable for low-latitude, low-altitude, hightemperature and humidity, short-day varieties Pigment Marigold "hybrid generation", plantedin Taining county, Fujian Province. To develop related indexes included controllable qualityevaluation system from the source, in order to protect the quality and safety of raw materials.The main results are as follows:1. Monitoring and evaluation of soil, water and atmosphere environment, etc, the resultsshow that the environment on the Base of Shancheng Town, Taining County meets therequirements completely.2. The research shows that Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium fertilizer on the growthof Marigold, the yield of dried flowers and Marigold Lutein content have significant impact.Fertilization can achieve obvious effects for increasing production. Under the processing witha certain amount of N fertilizer, Marigold Lutein content and yield, flowers production wereimproved. Applying a certain amount of P, K fertilizer, can promote the growth of Marigoldplants, Canopy diameter, dry flower production and Marigold Lutein production areimproved. Considering the yield and the production cost, the best fertilization ratio ofMarigold cultivation is N0.3g/kg,P2.0g/kg,K0.6g/kg.3. Different color shading film makes Marigold Lutein content produced a certain effect,the increasing rate reached about0.63%to13.75%. After multiple comparisons, yellow shading film and purple shading film had a very significant difference to other treatments, redshading film and blue shading film had a significant difference to natural light treatment. Redshading film, blue shading film had no significant difference to white shading film.4. N-hexane can be used as a good solvent to extract Marigold Lutein, to meet theindustrial production requirements, as low cost, less energy consumption, low toxicity, highefficiency.5. According to L16(45) orthogonal experiment results, factors affecting Marigold Luteinextraction yield of progression are as follows: the material liquid(A), temperature(B),extraction time(C) and extraction times(D). Further statistical analysis and significant testshowed that the material liquid ratio, temperature and extraction time of three factors on theextraction yield of Marigold Lutein has the extremely significant influence, and the extractiontimes no significant influence on the extraction of Marigold Lutein, solid-liquid ratio,temperature and extracting time three factors on the extraction yield of lutein plays a mainrole.6. Marigold Lutein is extracted by N-hexane as solvent, the optimum process conditionsare the material liquid ratio1:10, temperature60℃, extracting time5h, extraction times3times.7. The research results show that this project be established focusing on heavy metals,arsenic and Marigold Lutein content, and monitoring indicators of quality evaluation systemand Marigold Lutein extraction process, according with the standard supply to both domesticand foreign. At the same time, Planting Base of Marigold in subtropical region, its productscan reach the satisfy the quality standards.
