Marigold belongs to common-used Chinese medicine,it can be used orally. Researches have found that marigold is a primary material for lutein and lutein easter extraction which contained up to 30 to 40 percent lutein,but they were found in the form of esters.At present,commericial tablets of luntein were by extraction and purification,there are lingering questions about complicated manufacturing process,stronger fat solubility, poor stability,residual organic solvents and serious waste of the residue etc.Cyclodextrins (CD) contain a hydrophobic cavity as opposed to their hydrophilic molecule periphery. Because of that, they are soluble in aqueous media and capable of encapsulating guest hydrophobic molecules inside their cavities, thus forming CD inclusion complexes.CD inclusion complexes with pharmacologically active substances are important compounds for the pharmaceutical, because they improve the stability, solubility and bioavailability of the guest molecule, i.e. of the inclusion compound.The paper is reviewed that the new preparation’s raw material is marigold, β-CD can promote marigold micronization and form the inclusion complexes with the varieties of active ingredients it dissovled,and it had been studied by the quality control with high stability, solubility and well pharmaceutics performorance.Lutein and flavone are identified by UV and TLC.UV was used to test the inclusion effective and the equilibrium constant. The result shows lutein is easy to form inclusion complexeswith greatly equilibrium constant. The marigold preparation is prepared by colloid grinder and used microscopy imaging system to review its particle size. The experiment results indicates that β-CD can promote marigold micronization by most of its size distribution is between 3.3 and 34.5μm.We specify the preparation’s stability and solubility for the indicates to select the process, the best ratio of β-CD:marigold is 1:1.8 Marigold’s phase transforance and some component of marigold are formed inclusion complexes are proved by DTA.The margold preparation has good fluidity and compressible after it mixed with general adjuvant,and the dissolutions rate of its tablet during 45 min is in line with the related provisions 2010 edition of "Chinese Pharmacopoeia".Technologies for improving performance of Marigold and getting a effective inclusion are summarized such as promoting marigold micronization and forming the inclusion complexes. The preparance has many advantages with low ratio of P-CD was prepared by colloid grinder milling such as simple preparation technique,low cost and better preparation performance etc. Therefore,we successful found a new Marigold preparationwhich has better stability and solubility without extraction and purification,at the same time, provides new ideas and method about β-CD promote marigold micronization and simultaneously form the inclusion complexes with dissovled varieties of active ingredients.
