| Marigold(Tagetes erecta L),commonly known as calendulae flos, stink Hibiscus, annual herb.It has been used as antibacterial, sedative, antispasmodic agent and so on,for the treatment of upper respiratory tract infection, whooping cough, conjunctivitis, stomatitis, toothache, pharyngitis, dizziness, infantile convulsion, amenorrhea, abdominal pain blood stasis, carbuncle and other drug disorders sores;it is reported that there are prescriptions with marigold in treatment of acute, chronic bronchitis. Objective:To study the pharmacological effect and determine the content of total flavonoids of Marigold, and lay foundation for the development and utilization of Marigold.Methods:1.To determine the antitussive effect of Marigold.2.The extract was dissected on polyamide column, eluted by ethnol in different concertration,Nebulization of strong ammonia.3.Calculate ED50 and LD50 of the effective part by sequential procedure.4.Identify the types of effective part by color reactions.5.Optimize extraction of total flavonoids from Tagetes erecta L based on central composite design/response surface methodology.Conclusions:1.water extraction of Marigold showed significant antitussive effect.2.90%ethanol elution was confirmed as the effective part.3.Safety factor calculated was very big(>100),suggesting that it is safe.4.Through color reaction of 90%ethanol elution of marigold, made the initial judge of it contains flavonoids phenolic.5.The optimal extraction process as follows:extraction temperature 70℃,the concentration of 80%ethanol,extraction time 2.5 h,liquid feed ratio 35:1. |
