Objective:Carcinoma fever is one of common symptoms which are associated with cancer progression, and has varying degrees of impact on the survival time and the quality of patients’ life. In this study, the author tries to use a randomized controlled clinical research, making an objective evaluation of Yangyin Qingre Prescription efficacy of the treatment of Yin Deficiency carcinoma fever, focusing on observed clinical symptoms (fever) and quality of life (KPS), and observing its security to provide a basis for the development of effective treatment of traditional Chinese medicine preparation for Yin Deficiency carcinoma fever.Methods:40cases of patients in hospital (April,2012-March,2013) are all from Jiangsu Province Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Divide them into two groups:treatment group and control group. Patients’sequence number (1-40) is fixed by the way of a random-number table method randomization. The control group only takes indomethacin suppository for symptomatic treatment; while the treatment group takes the Yangyin Qingre Prescription every day, and combines with indomethacin suppository. The evaluation of drug efficacy and safety is made of efficacy indexes (main symptoms and signs:body temperature; KPS) and safety indexes (blood routine, urine routine, stool routine, ECG, liver function, kidney function). Results:After treatment, the situation of the two groups of patients:the total effective rate is80%in the treatment group and70%in the control group, and after the rank-sum test, P<0.05; the percentage of patients whose KPS stabilizes or improves in the treatment group and the control group is90%and85%respectively, and after the chi-square test, P<0.05. Before and after treatment, self-control by the two sets of related samples non-parametric test, P<0.05.After treatment between the two groups KPS controlled by two independent samples nonparametric tests (P<0.05).Conclusions:The treatment of Yin Deficiency carcinoma fever, both only using indomethacin suppository and combing with Yangyin Qingre Prescription, are safe and effective treatment methods. And combined with Yangyin Qingre Prescription is good for improving efficiency and changing the quality of patients’life, and it does not increase the adverse reactions. So patients can benefit more. Thus it can confirm that Yangyin Qingre Prescription is a safe and effective treatment for Yin Deficiency carcinoma fever, to promote clinical application and have a value of further research.
