Background:Clinical nursing practice is a occupational socialization process that encourages internalization of nursing character which by linking university education with practical work. During this period, student nurses are limited by their knowledge depth of theories, and are not familiar with operation procedures. They are inclined to feel uncomfortable about managing relationships with patients and patients’s family members. These are often the sources of their stress. It has become a problem urgently to be solved in nursing educators that how to reduce the work stress of nursing students, to improve the positive and effective response, interpersonal trust and self-esteem level, to improve their ability of social adaptation. Research Objectives:The objectives of this research includes investigating student nurses’stress level and influencing factors, analyzing the relationship among their stress, coping methods, self-esteem, and others-oriented trusts, making effective intervene plans to reduce the work stress of nursing students strengthen their coping ability, trust and self-esteem. According to the results of the above analysis, put forward the corresponding countermeasures and Suggestions, reduce the work stress of nursing students, improve the effective response ability, enhance the level of self-esteem and interpersonal trust.Research Method:Main research methods adopted are documentary analysis method and questionnaire survey. The author makes descriptive analysis, single factor analysis, correlation analysis, multivariate analysis with data acquired. With documentary analysis, the author widely reviewed documents include NJSI, SCSQ, SCLS-R and FIPS. In this process, the author analyzes the work stress level, coping methods, and degrees of self-esteem and faith in people. By adopting dichotomy Logistic regression analysis, the author recognizes several factors that causing work stress. By applying Pearson analysis, the author analyzes the correlation between student nurses stress and their coping methods, self-esteem and faith in people.Main Results:1.The work stress level of student nurses averages at2.88±0.61. It is at a medium stress level. Among the five dimensionalities of student nurses’stress sources, patient care in at the top.2. In single factor analysis of student nurse work stress, education degree, family income, university life, major interest, study results, study stress, employment pressure and teaching satisfaction are of the most significant impact.3. Student nurses positive coping methods averages at20.64±3.79. Male student nurses and those with both introvert and extrovert personalities and small employment stress take more positive coping methods. While those with little interest in chosen major, bad study results, high employment pressure take less positive coping methods. Student nurses negative coping methods averages at10.00±1.82. Male student nurses and those with introvert personalities, little interest in chosen major and high employment pressure take more negative coping methods. While those with low employment pressure take less negative coping methods.4. Student nurses self-esteem averages at29.44±3.35. It is at a medium level. Self-esteem does not have much impact on work stress.5. Student nurses faith in people averages at2.66±1.33, it is higher than norm. They perform a higher faith in people. While the degree gets lower as work stress gets higher.Conclusion and Suggestion:Positive coping styles and a higher degree of interpersonal trust can effectively relieve stress, and negative coping styles and lower interpersonal trust is not conducive to ease the pressure.In this research, the author suggests to strengthen professional thinking and knowledge and humanistic knowledge education of students, train student nurses to master active coping methods and stress management ability. It is also suggested to help student nurses in establishing excellent interpersonal communications and provide them with constructive advice on career planning. It is also critical to build a social supporting system.
