Objective:By detecting the plasma level of Homocysteine (HCY, Homocysteine), the relationship between Plasma homocysteine levels and risk stratification of essential hypertension was discussed, aim to facilitate early intervention of blood pressure and reduce the target organ damage.methods:82cases with essential hypertension admitted into the jinan fourth people s hospital from November2011to June2012were enrolled. Diagnosis is according to China’s high blood pressure prevention and control guidelines (revised in2005). Among the cases,43cases is male and39female, age from50to63years old;53normal cases was control group,23cases is male and20female,49-60years old. By clinical doctors record each patient’s name, gender, age, smoking history, history of chronic diseases (including the presence of coronary heart disease, hyperlipidemia, cerebral apoplexy, etc.), ask for details of blood pressure, height, weight, and to measure the patient calculate BMI (body mass index), testing on an empty stomach blood plasma level of SBP, DBP, homocysteine (HCY), cholesterol (CHO), Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL), Interventricular septal thickness (IVST), left ventricular posterior wall thickness (LVPWT), left ventricular end diastolic dimension (LVED), intimal-media thickness(IMT). The groups were according to the level of hypertension patients, according to the Chinese high blood pressure prevention and control guidelines (2005edition) standard of risk stratification, are divided into three groups:I group (moderate), II group (high risk group), III group (extremely high risk group), analysis the homocysteine differences between the groups. All datas were analyzed by SPSS16.0, including χ2-tests and logistic regression. P<0.05was considered statistically significant. Results:HCY level in hypertension group were significantly higher than control group (p<0.01). In hypertension group, with the increased level of danger, the concentration of plasma HCY also gradually rise, difference between HCY levels of Ⅰ group and Ⅲ group, Ⅱ group and Ⅲ group were statistically significant (P<0.05). HCY and systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), BMI, Interventricular septal thickness (IVST), left ventricular posterior wall thickness (LVPWT), left ventricular end diastolic dimension (LVED) were positively correlated, and has nothing to do with age, cholesterol (CHO), Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL). When hypertension associated with carotid intima-middle thickness (IMT) increases, the plasma HCY levels also increased, with statistical significance. Conclusions:The plasma HCY value of patients with high blood pressure is closely related to the risk level of hypertension patients, and is also close to essential hypertension cardiovascular disease, plasma HCY values could help us to determine the risk of hypertension cardiovascular accident and viscera injuries, has certain clinical significance in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of high blood pressure.
