Angelica Sinensis is the traditional Chinese medicine commonly used, it is aninvigorating blood circulation, enriching the blood, relaxing bowel drug, which stems fromthe drying root of Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diel. The experiment studies on the softening andsectioning technology of Angelica Sinensis. We based the index of extractive substance, polysaccharide, volatile oil, ferulic acid and ligustilide as its optimum technology step by step, determined the technical parameters of the softening and sectioning in each technical linkprovided profitable reference for laying down the optimum technology, and made furtherimprovement on the quality standard of herb pieces prepared for decoction of AngelicaSinensis. At first, we chose water ratio, obturation time, mode of processing as the speculationfactors, prepared the samples by uniform design method, evaluated the quality of Angelicapieces with fuzzy matter-element model based on variation coefficient weight and curvilinearregression, then chose the optimum processing technology of Angelica pieces. The resultsindicate that the best softening conditions were obtained: add water188g, ultrasonicprocessing90minutes, vacuum tightness and22hours. The processing was easy to operateand controllable, and provided the sufficient experimenntal evidents for industrial manufac-ture of Angelica pieces.Polysaccharide, ferulic acid and ligustilide are main active principles which play animportant role in evaluating the quality of Angelica pieces. This article took content ofglucose as parameters. The optimum colorimetric method was selected by use of phenylhydrate-sulfuric acid and optimized with the L9(34) orthogonal design. The absorbance ismeasured at483nm. The significant effects of phenyl and hydratc–sulfuric acid volume bothon determination of glucose content were discovered. On the basis of the single factor, independent variables were methanol concentrations, solvent ratio and ultrasonic time, whiledependent variable was the OD value of extraction rates of ferulic acid and ligustilide. Atwo-order polynomial equation was fitted to estimate the relationship between independentand dependent variables. Response surface method was used to optimize the extractingprocess. The optimum extraction conditions for Angelica Sinensis were obtained as follows: the extracting solvent was methanol concentrations of70%,30folds solvent, extracting foronce and for40minutes.We studied the quality of decoction pieces of Angelica sinensis which processed by thesame technics, and determined ash content, ethanol-soluble extractives, ferulic acid andligustilide, then established the quality standards. In this paper, we integrated the traditional concocting experiences with the modernscientific technology and quality monitoring method, investigated the softening technics ofAngelica pieces which was the important step of concocting processing. It is very easy tomake a standardization operation by establishing easily controlled technological parameterand improved quality standards....
