Objective:This case report explored the change of vertical bone height after the maxillary sinus lift, discussed the factors those influence the success rate of maxillary sinus lift and implantion., and provided reference for the clinical treatment.Methods:5patients in the Oral Implant Center of Zhejiang University Dental Hospital Medical College of Zhejiang University from2012July to2013April were collected. We evaluated the risk of operation according to oral examination and CBCT. Then the operation scheme of maxillary sinus lift and implantation were made. We will measured vertical bone change using CBCT before and after operation.Result:(1) Five opretion patients return visit after3-6months after operation, oral CBCT examination show that maxillary sinus vertical bone are improved after operation.(2)Case one:6months after the treatment, implant and bone graft were healed well displayed by the CBCT. The width of bone was13.6mm, implant root end cover2.6mm bone, maxillary sinus lifting amplitude is8.8mm.(3)Case two:6months after the treatment, the width of bone was12.3mm,26implant root end cover2.8mm bone,27root end cover3.2mm bone, maxillary sinus lifting amplitude is9mm.(4) Case three:3months after the treatmentthe, the vertical height of left maxillary sinus had a increasment of10.7-14.lmm. compared6months after the treatment, the vertical height of left maxillary sinus had a increasment of10.7-14.lmm. compared with preoperative.(5) Case four:3months after the treatment, the vertical height of left maxillary sinus had a increasment of8.2-10.5mmmm. compared with that before operation..(6) Case five:6months after the treatment, the vertical height of left maxillary sinus had a increasment of9.2-10.8mm. compared with that before operation..Conclusion:(1) Residual ridge height less than6mm is the indication of maxillary sinus lift. Lack of vertical bone in maxillary sinus area can be solved by bone graft, bone graft materials contain autogenous bone, artificial bone or a mixture of both. Bone grafting can combined application of barrier membrane in order to consolidate the bone grafting effect.(2) Sparse bone density will have an adverse effect on the prognosis of implants.Bone extrusion technology helps to increase the density of bone around implant to ensure the implant primary stability.(3) In order to ensure the initial implant stability, the maxillary sinus vertical bone height had to reach at least to the5mm, so the height of the available bone more than5mm was the indication of maxillary sinus lifting.(4) As implant roughness, external shape, diameter and length are also factors those influence the success rate of implanting, we need to choose the suitable planting system according to the specific conditions of patients.
