Objective: To study chemical composition, metallic element of Lavandulaangustifolia Mill, provide a more stable and reliable method for quality evaluation andcontrol, and provide a reference for clinical medicine and Lavandula angustifolia Millprocessing. Methods: According to the2010bersion of Pharmacopoeia, identification ofthe original plant of Lavandula angustifolia Mill, and describe their properties. The extractof Lavandula angustifolia Mill was subjected to chemical composition pre-experiment.The use of GC-MS techniques to analyze four different origins Lavandula angustifoliaMill essential oil chemical compositions. Determine the content of total flavonoid andtotal polyphenol in Lavandula angustifolia Mill by vis-spectrophotometry. Applied Gaschromatography-Mass spectrometry to determine contents of linalool and linalyl acetate inLavandula angustifolia Mill. Applied the method of liquid chromatogram to determinecontents of rosmarinic acid in Lavandula angustifolia Mill. Five metallic elements inLavandula angustifolia Mill such as Mn, Ca, Fe, Cu, Zn were determined by flame atomicabsorption spectrometry, that the Hg and As were determined by HydrideGeneration-Atomic Florescence Spectrometry. Results: The result of systematicpreliminary test showed that the Lavandula angustifolia Mill may contained glycosides,polyphenols, flavonoids, saponins, triterpenoid or steroidal and volatile oil etc.18~38compounds identified from Lavandula angustifolia Mill essential oil. The content ofLinalool, linalyl acetate and rosemary acid in different habitats Lavandula angustifoliaMills exists a significant difference. Check of arsenic and mercury are in line with nationalstandards. Conclusion: This paper explored the quality evaluation methods of thedifferent sources of Lavandula angustifolia Mills. Determination of the content of linalool,linalyl acetate and rosemary acid from different sources Lavandula angustifolia Mills,7kinds of metal element content from different parts of the Lavandula angustifolia Millswas measured.
